Australian Turf Club Confirms TAB Golden Slipper Trophy Unaccounted For After Routine Media Appearance
2 March, 2026
The Australian Turf Club has confirmed the 2026 TAB Golden Slipper trophy is unaccounted for after an on-air interview with Nova 96.9 hosts Ricki-Lee and Tim Blackwell in Pyrmont this morning.
The iconic TAB Golden Slipper trophy, on the 70th anniversary of Australia’s most prestigious two-year-old race, was unveiled at Nova’s studios during a media appearance to launch this year’s Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival.
The trophy was last seen in Nova’s green room and the Australian Turf Club is working closely with the team at Nova to retrace its movements and locate the precious prize ahead of the upcoming race.
Nova acknowledges the TAB Golden Slipper trophy is one of Australian racing’s most iconic and are doing everything they can to support the ATC in finding it.
ATC Interim CEO Steve McMahon said: “In its milestone 70th year, the TAB Golden Slipper trophy holds enormous significance for the Australian Turf Club and the racing community. At this stage, we are still clarifying its movements following this morning’s appearance at Nova. We’re asking anyone who may have seen the trophy after the broadcast to stay tuned as we work through the details.’’
Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of the TAB Golden Slipper trophy is encouraged to stay tuned for updates and follow developments in the coming days on Nova’s afternoon show from 4:00pm-6:00pm.
The Carnival begins Saturday 14 March with the annual Pink Fashion Lunch on Chandon Ladies Day at Rosehill Gardens, building to the 70th TAB Golden Slipper Day on Saturday 21 March, and concludes with Family Stakes Day.
