Elevated prizemoney continues to attract strong acceptances with a competitive field for the Listed $160,000 Furphy Winter Stakes this Saturday as Royal Randwick hosts 10 races with 160 acceptors across the program.
The penultimate Listed race for the season, the Listed Furphy Winter Stakes (1400m) has attracted a quality field with $2.40 TAB Fixed Odds favourite Taksu gunning for back-to-back victories under the guidance of Glen Schofield for the Joe Pride stable following success in the Listed $150,000 Chandon Civic Stakes at Royal Randwick on June 25 while $5 TAB Fixed Odds emergency Chief Altony follows in the market.
In form apprentice Reece Jones will be aiming to score a third straight win aboard $8 TAB Fixed Odds fancy Jojo Was A Man, coming off two last start victories at Royal Randwick on June 25 and 11. The John Thompson-trained gelding will be stepping up from Benchmark 78 company to Listed level carrying 53 kilograms in what is to be expected a heavy surface, with Oscar Zulu (Hugh Bowman) and Tamahere (Tom Sherry) other notable chances.

The Sydney Winter Racing Super Pass allows General Admission entry to all Saturday meetings to 10 September, including Group 1 Winx Stakes Day at Royal Randwick, Chelmsford Stakes Day at Royal Randwick, and Run To The Rose Day at Rosehill Gardens.
The Australian Turf Club is also offering a new Punters Pack special at theraces.com.au – with a $39 ticket ($60 value) which includes general admission entry, two Furphy beverage vouchers, a $10 food voucher and a racebook.
