TREE TRIBUTE TO QUEEN ELIZABETH II UNVEILED AT ROYAL RANDWICK

December 15, 2022

The Australian Turf Club will unveil a new garden space and host a tree-planting ceremony at Royal Randwick this Saturday in tribute to the life and service of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

The Commonwealth Government-funded project is among special events held across Australia to commemorate the Platinum Jubilee (70 years of service) of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, and following her passing earlier this year.

Member for Kingsford Smith Matt Thistlethwaite will be among dignitaries to attend the ceremony and formally open the garden adjacent to the Main Gate entrance of Royal Randwick off Alison Road.

The ceremony comes ahead of a 10-race card at Royal Randwick on Saturday which has attracted 151 final acceptors on a Good 4 surface for the Christmas at Royal Randwick meeting.

Royal Randwick Racecourse Manager Michael Wood gives a track report video update here on the track surface following its successful Summer renovation and last Saturday’s The Ingham meeting.

Full fields for Royal Randwick are available here and full TAB Fixed Odds markets for all races available here.

Gates open for Australian Turf Club Members at 11am and General Admission customers at 11.15am, with the first race due to start at 12.20pm.
