A celebration of Australian racing’s jockeys, the crowning of Sydney’s champion trainer, and free entry offers for South Sydney Rabbitohs Members, footy fans and certified ‘’tradies’’ – all on a full eight-race card at Rosehill Gardens this Saturday. Paslode Tradies Day Out this Saturday promises an action-packed day trackside as the Australian Turf Club continues a range of savings on entry, food and drink prices for Sydney punters and sporting fans.
Tradesmen and tradeswoman with their official ‘’white card’’ certification, along with all South Sydney Rabbitohs Members and those holding tickets to the Souths and Penrith match at ANZ Stadium this weekend, will be admitted free to Rosehill Gardens on Saturday. Ticket holders to Rosehill Gardens who present their raceday ticket at ANZ Stadium – as well as ATC Members – will in return receive free entry to the NRL Round 21 match.
The ATC’s Winter Racing Super Savers continue – available at www.theraces.com.au before midday tomorrow – with $45 in value for less than half the price, including entry to the course, a racebook, a standard drink voucher and Vili’s Pie voucher, along with an entry ticket to another Saturday race meeting before the end of August. Just days after star jockey Hugh Bowman secured the Sydney’s jockey premiership, Saturday will coincide with Jockey Celebration Day to mark the achievements of all former and current jockeys, and commemorate those who have lost their lives riding. A prayer and minute’s silence at 2.30pm between races four and five will be held in the Rosehill Gardens mounting yard whilst one jockey in each race will carry the National Jockey Trust colours and logo. Special pins and merchandise will be sold across the racecourse throughout the day to raise funds for injured or ill jockeys and their families. The ATC will make a special presentation to Sydney’s champion trainer Chris Waller to honour his fifth consecutive premiership, and will hold a presentation for Hugh Bowman in coming weeks when he returns home from riding commitments in Darwin this weekend, followed by a short break.
The TAB tomorrow opens a special market on the 2015/16 Sydney Jockey Premiership and Sydney Trainer Premiership – both which officially start this Saturday – on its “racing extras’’ page at www.tab.com.au Bowman will open at $2.80 to retain the title, ahead of James McDonald ($3.20), Blake Shinn ($3.80), Tommy Berry ($7.00) or “any other jockey’’ at $13. Waller will be a white-hot $1.03 for the new season when markets open, ahead of Godolphin’s John O’Shea at $13, Gai Waterhouse at $17 and the “any other trainer’’ bracket at $101. The TAB will also offer a $150,000 jackpot to kick-off the pool for the popular Quaddie on the last four races at Rosehill Gardens this Saturday. Open betting fields in the first two legs kick off the Quaddie, including the day’s feature, race 6, the $100,000 Paslode Winter Challenge headed by the Waller trio of You’ll Never ($4.20 TAB Fixed Odds), Rugged Cross ($4.60 TAB Fixed Odds) and Eigelstein ($5 TAB Fixed Odds). Peter Moody’s Noela’s Choice at $6 TAB Fixed Odds and Peter and Paul Snowden’s Great Esteem at $7 TAB Fixed Odds add great value to the second Quaddie leg. Australian Turf Club Head Of Commercial Rohan Sawyer said $5 Tooheys New tap beers in selected public and Members bars would continue at Rosehill Gardens this Saturday.
“The Super Saver tickets at www.theraces.com.au continue to provide sensational value for punters during the Winter season,’’ Mr Sawyer said. “Patrons on the track not only also get the very best of the live action for the Sydney races but also all of the TV coverage of the Victorian races across the racecourse.’’ TAB Rewards customers who place bets on EBTs on course the Saturday receive double reward points.
Rosehill Gardens provides free parking and scheduled train services run from Central and arrive directly outside the main gates. Free high-capacity WiFi is also available across the racecourse precinct.
