For your safety and those around you additional measures have been put in place within the trackside viewing area at Royal Randwick.
Attendants at entry and exit points will direct you to the owners viewing area which is signed and is situated overlooking the winning horses stall. In order to remove horse and patron interaction there will be clear demarcation with ropes that will guide you away from potential hazards.
Owners wishing to view from the trackside area can enter and leave either by the pedestrian tunnel under the stand which links the Theatre of the Horse or by the gate at the Members Lawn on the Ground Level of the Queen Elizabeth II Grandstand.
There is also an escalator which can take you up from the Ground Level at the front of the Queen Elizabeth II Grandstand to the Owners’ Viewing Deck on Level 1. The escalators are situated at the centre of the Grandstand inside the Members’ Enclosure.
This Saturday at Royal Randwick will also see the opening of the new Longines Winning Owners Room, situated just inside the main entrance to the Chairman’s Club, which will be in use for all future meetings.
Please be advised of how the new room will operate so that you can enjoy – in style – every moment of hopefully many wins at Royal Randwick for years to come:
- After each race, winning owners and connections who have greeted their horse and jockey at the winner’s stall will be escorted by a member of our sponsorship team up the new escalator at the front of the main grandstand, and along the stairs which lead directly up to the room.
- The new escalator, which will operate in either direction, will allow easier access to and from the owners viewing area, as well as the front of the grandstand and winner’s stall, and the Longines Winning Owners Room.
- Those winning owners not at the winner’s stall can simply join the group inside the winners room by showing their pass to the ATC staff member stationed at the door.
- ATC staff, including the usher stationed outside, will assist you from the winning owners room back to the members facilities prior to the start of the next race.
We thank you for your ongoing support and wish you every success with your horses.
