September 18, 2021
ROYAL RANDWICK 18/09/21 BEST BET Race Eight, 1-NATURE STRIP
RACE ONE 11.40am TAB HIGHWAY HANDICAP 1000m
10-PRIVATE AGENT (K O’Hara/K Goldman) He was given a nine week break after he Trialed in late June and in early July. He then Trialed at home (Goulburn) earlier this month. He’s now capable of coping with a break of almost one year since his last start
1-AHEAD START (J McDonald/D Williams) He is a very lightly raced 4YO who resumes from his spell today after Trialing twice recently at his Goulburn home base. He scored with authority 1st up last campaign/Wellington and he’s proven at Randwick
3-NICCI TRIX (K McEvoy/J Graham) This Port Macquarie based mare is yet another who presents 1st up in this Race. She was given a home track Trial earlier this month when she clearly indicated that she would be more than ready to fire 1st up over 1000m
17-BATTLEGROUND (J Collett/M Dale) He presents 3rd up from a very long spell, having his fourth start since a Stable Change. He over-raced here last start before he finished unplaced but Gear Changes have now been made. He should regain his best form
RACE TWO 12.15pm PEACHESTER LODGE SHOOT OUT MILE 1600m
8-KORDIA (R King/J Cummings) He terminated a seven start losing sequence when he tackled 1500m at Kembla Grange last start and he needed to overcome an awkward gate to do so. He’s attempting this distance for the first time and 1600m can now suit
4-BIGBOYROY (J McDonald/C Waller) He was a winner when he last attempted this distance on this track and history could easily repeat. He can enjoy an excellent run in transit after drawing the inside gate and his last effort here/1500m was full of merit
5-KISS THE BRIDE (N Rawiller/B Baker) This experienced 6YO has been kept fresh since his 2nd up Kembla Grange effort last start when he performed well above the expectations of the Market Place. He’s won here when he has been produced fresh before
9-COGNAC (J Van Overmeire/R & M Freedman) He is an imported gelding who is now well advanced into his second Australian preparation. Numerous Gear Changes have been made for today after he over-raced here over this trip last run. He should improve
RACE THREE 12.50pm MIDWAY HANDICAP 1600m
9-BIG SURPRISE (H Bowman/K Buchanan) This experienced frontrunning 7YO is making his Randwick debut today and he does so after matching his Personal Best Rating last start when he tackled this distance at Gosford. He should maintain his form
6-TAMPERING (B Ryan/K Parker) He overcame a tough run to win 1st up/Kembla Grange before he further progressed here over this trip at his next start. He then stepped up to 1800m here last start when there were excuses. A switch back to 1600m suits today
13-AKIHIRO (J McDonald/G Portelli) He presents in this Race as the only 3YO in the Field but the placement of his Connections must be respected. He handed in a new Best rating when he won/Wyong last run. He was competing in Blinkers for the first time!
2-FOXBOROUGH (R Bayliss/J Sargent) After striking traffic problems here 1st up, his next effort was full of merit when he stepped up to this trip here. A quick back-up failed to suit at his only subsequent run. He’s better placed here after three weeks off
RACE FOUR 1.25pm THE AGENCY HANDICAP 1400m
5-HIGH SUPREMACY (N Rawiller/R & M Freedman) After Trialing twice last month at his Rosehill home base, he resumes today with Gear Changes made. He will appreciate further as his preparation unfolds but 1st up today, this distance should be ideal
9-SUPER EFFORT (J Ford/G Ryan & S Alexiou) During his twelve starts to date, he has finished unplaced on only three occasions and there were genuine excuses on each day. He clearly indicated here last start/1300m that he’s ready to handle this trip
12-STEEL DIAMOND (G Boss/C Waller) He is having his sixth start back from a long spell and he presents today after a break of three weeks. Switching back from 1500m last start at Kembla Grange when he struck traffic problems should now aid his cause
7-TAKSU (J Collett/J Pride) He is having his fifth start since a Stable Change and he must be forgiven for his unplaced lone Randwick (Course Proper) attempt to date as he raced too keenly, competing after seven weeks off. He should travel kinder today
RACE FIVE 2.00pm BILL RITCHIE HANDICAP 1400m
4-AMARELINHA (K McEvoy/J Richards) This Matamata (New Zealand) based mare begins her second campaign and she does so after Trialing here earlier this month/Kerrin McEvoy aboard. Winkers have been added to her Gear and she’s ready to fire 1st up
11-ATISHU (T Clark/C Waller) She was a Dual Acceptor for this Meeting with her Connections choosing this Race as the most preferred option. She made a terrific Australian debut here two starts ago before there were genuine excuses for a last start defeat
3-ARAMAYO (J Collett/C Waller) He’d Trialed twice before he commenced his second preparation for the Waller Stable here over this trip last start when he performed well above the expectations of the Market Place. He can only present Race-fitter today
5-PRIVATE EYE (J Ford/J Pride) Blinkers were removed before he displayed great determination to score 1st up here/1200m. He then became unsuited on the day from almost the widest gate at Kembla Grange last run. Blinkers go back on now, he can improve
RACE SIX 2.40pm DARLEY TEA ROSE STAKES 1400m
4-MALLORY (J Collett/G Ryan & S Alexiou) She finished unplaced here 1st up but there were excuses. She again became unsuited at her 2nd up start here but she still performed above the expectations of the Market Place. She still has scope to improve
1-FOUR MOVES AHEAD (N Rawiller/J Sargent) She presents third up at home after handing in two solid efforts here/1200m since her spell. She wasn’t suited in transit on either occasion but she has stuck to her task. A step up to 1400m now aids her cause
3-SHE’S ALL CLASS (J McDonald/C Waller) Her lone lead up Trial was held six weeks before she resumed from a long spell here two weeks ago when she was anything but disgraced. She can only present Race-fitter today with her 1st up effort behind her
7-NAJMATY (H Bowman/P & P Snowden) After a slow start has done nothing to aid her cause either 1st up at Caulfield or then here last run, she presents 3rd up today attempting this distance for the first time. Winkers now go on and she should relish 1400m
5-ROBODIRA (S Clipperton/J O’Shea) She had Trialed twice here at home before she resumed here last start with a Gear Change made (Blinkers Off). She started at big odds before she did all but win. Early luck from wide out can allow her to again play a part
RACE SEVEN 3.15pm FUJITSU GENERAL GEORGE MAIN STAKES 1600m
7-VERRY ELLEEGANT (J McDonald/C Waller) Her excellent overall record is matched by her record on this track. She had only been given the lone Trial before her brave effort in defeat here 1st up last start. She clearly has scope to improve 2nd up today
2-THINK IT OVER (N Rawiller/K Parker) He was produced 2nd up here last start when he won/1600m and almost matched his Personal Best rating. He has been presented 3rd up in four Races, winning twice and finishing second twice. He has more to offer
3-CASCADIAN (H Bowman/J Cummings) This imported 7YO handed in a strong 1st up effort here before he finished unplaced when he started Favourite here last start but he’s yet to win anywhere when 2nd up. He did win here/1600m 3rd up last preparation
1-KOLDING (T Clark/C Waller) He presents third up with all involved hoping that history repeats, he won the 2020 renewal of this Race. He’s finished unplaced at both starts here since his spell but it must be noted that he has become unsuited in both Races
RACE EIGHT 3.55pm BOWERMANS COMMERCIAL FURNITURE SHORTS 1100m
1-NATURE STRIP (J McDonald/C Waller) After his home track lead up Rosehill Trial, he resumed here over 1000m last start when he more than justified the short odds on offer about his chances on the day. His record over this distance is outstanding
2-EDUARDO (N Rawiller/J Pride) He was produced 1st up after Trialing twice when he defeated Nature Strip over 1000m on this track last preparation. He presents 1st up again today. He has again been given two Trials and he is proven 1st up over this distance
4-MARKED CRUSADER (J Parr/M, W & J Hawkes) He had Trialed at home (Rosehill) before he was produced 1st up over this trip at Caulfield last start when he almost matched his Personal Best rating. He has scope to improve on this more spacious circuit
7-LOST AND RUNNING (H Bowman/J O’Shea) Hugh Bowman has been aboard during both lead up Trials here at home in preparation for today’s 1st up attempt. He faces his toughest test but he has ratings on his Form Card which suggest that he’ll cope
RACE NINE 4.35pm TAB KINGSTON TOWN STAKES 2000m
4-SPIRIT RIDGE (J Parr/M Newnham) He was competing after a break of seven weeks and two subsequent Trials when he was produced over this distance last start at Kembla Grange. He became unsuited in transit on the day but he refused to shirk his task
3-MONTEFILIA (H Bowman/D Payne) She had been given two Trials spaced four weeks apart before she resumed here last start when she performed above the expectations of the Market Place. Her 2nd up effort last campaign over this journey was full of merit
14-SHE’S IDEEL (J Collett/B Baker) A Gear Change was made (Blinkers Off) before this Warwick Farm based mare resumed here two starts ago. Her effort was excellent over 1400m fresh before 1600m didn’t suit here last run. She’s ready to relish 2000m
2-KUKERACHA (J McDonald/C Waller) He has finished unplaced at all three starts on this track but the statistics are misleading. There have been excuses on all three occasions. He presents 3rd up today with a step up from 1600m here last start aiding his cause
RACE TEN 5.15pm HEINEKEN HANDICAP 1100m
12-EQUATION (J McDonald/A Neasham) He remained unbeaten during his first campaign for the Neasham Stable and he resumes here without a lead up Trial but the booking of leading jockey James McDonald suggests that he’s likely to hold his form!
16-GRAVINA (J Collett/J Cummings) He Trialed earlier this month/Wyong in preparation for this first up attempt. He’d been off the scene for more than one year before he handed in a game 1st up effort last campaign/Hawkesbury. He’s suitably placed today
3-MARWAY (B Ryan/M Newnham) He is beginning his second preparation since a Stable Change after Trialing twice here recently. He dug deep to score 1st up last campaign/1000m at Warwick Farm and this distance 1st up should not pose a problem
6-VALAQUENTA (K McEvoy/J Cummings) He almost matched his Personal Best rating when he resumed from his spell here over this distance last start and although his Race was seven weeks ago, the break between starts isn’t an issue. He’s Trialed since
