ROYAL RANDWICK 16/10/21 BEST BET Race One, 7-ZOUSHACK
RACE ONE 12.30pm FUJITSU GENERAL HANDICAP 1400m
7-ZOUSHACK (N Rawiller/J Pride) He has the pace to cheaply cross from his wide gate and he’s suitably placed at his third start since a spell and since a Stable Change. He must be forgiven for finishing unplaced at Warwick Farm last run. There were excuses
2-VENTURA OCEAN (H Bowman/K Lees) He was having his third start in his second Australian preparation at Rosehill last run when he stepped up to attempt 1400m for the first time during his current campaign. He became unsuited and he should improve
3-CUBAN ROYALE (B Ryan/R & L Price) This Kembla Grange based gelding was kept fresh before he handed in a most pleasing effort last start at Rosehill when he tackled 1300m on the day. He’s again been kept fresh and he’s likely to hold his form
14-FOX FIGHTER (A Adkins/D Payne) He was produced as a gelding for the first time when he resumed at Hawkesbury back in June and all six starts during his current campaign have been full of merit. He is tackling a significant rise today but he can cope
RACE TWO 1.05pm THE STAR MILE 1600m
10-HIGH SUPREMACY (R Dolan/R & M Freedman) He resumed here over 1400m when he did a top job to score after he found room almost too late before a switch back to 1300m didn’t suit here last start. Blinkers are now on and he’s ready to relish 1600m
8-NEW ARRANGEMENT (B Ryan/C Waller) This Rosehill trained 6YO has established a good Randwick record and his last run behind Kiss The Bride when he tackled this journey here was typically solid. The 2.0kg Claim for Brock Ryan today aids his cause
5-KISS THE BRIDE (J Collett/B Baker) Drawing wide out isn’t “ideal” but in his case, he can quickly overcome the disadvantage today and then make his own luck up front. Forgive his unplaced effort here over this distance last start, he became most unsuited
3-LOOKS LIKE ELVIS (G Boss/J Austin) He’d Trialed at home (Warwick Farm) before he was presented first up here last start when he performed well above the expectations of the Market Place. He’s Trialed again at home since and he can further improve
RACE THREE 1.40pm TAB HIGHWAY HANDICAP 1100m
2-AHEAD START (J McDonald/D Williams) He resumed here last start when he found Leo too good but Leo has won again here since and Ahead Start now has scope to improve. He Trialed recently/Moruya and he looked the part here second up last campaign
12-TEN BELLS (J Collett/S Collings) She was making her Randwick debut when she tackled this distance with Jason Collett aboard two starts ago. She found the line strongly to score and her latest effort, also here, was much better than it reads “on paper”
16-BOSS LADY ROCKS (R Bayliss/R Stubbs) She’s having her fifth start in her first campaign and she’s suitably placed, making a metropolitan debut here. She was presented after five weeks off when she scored with authority at Albury. She’s Race-fitter now
4-CASINO KID (R King/J Bowen) He is a Muswellbrook trained gelding who presents first up today after Trialing on his home track earlier in the month. He has only been produced here twice and both efforts (at his most recent two starts), were full of merit
RACE FOUR 2.15pm BISLEY WORKWEAR REGINALD ALLEN QUALITY 1400m
5-FANGIRL (J McDonald/C Waller) She was only having her third run in a Race when she could not have been more impressive than she was at Goulburn last start over this trip. She was produced second up and she clearly has scope to further progress today
2-PICARONES (N Rawiller/J Cummings) He became unsuited in transit first up at Rosehill before he has continued to improve at Flemington and Sandown since. He tackled 1400m last start when he performed above expectations and he will be Race-fitter now
1-DECENT RAINE (T Berry/C Maher & D Eustace) This lightly raced filly is having her first Sydney start and she steps up to attempt 1400m for the first time. She struck traffic problems last run/Moonee Valley when she indicated that this trip will now suit
3-HOOVER LUCY (H Bowman/C Waller) A Change of Tactics was announced before she was presented third up at Warwick Farm last start when she scored with great authority over this distance. She attempts a significant class rise today but she can cope
RACE FIVE 2.50pm THE KOSCIUSZKO 1200m
1-HANDLE THE TRUTH (N Rawiller/K Dryden) He has been anything but disgraced at both starts since his spell over shorter distances on this track and his effort in this Race last year was excellent after he endured a tough run. He is suitably placed today
7-EDIT (H Bowman/C Morgan) He had Trialed twice before he resumed on his new home track at Tamworth last start when he made an Australian debut. He was competing as a gelding for the first time when he won easily over this trip. He’s Race-fitter now
3-ART CADEAU (T Berry/T Robinson) This lightly raced gelding was only having his second start at Randwick when he ended his last preparation with a career best effort last run. He Trialed late last month/Hawkesbury and he’s ready to regain his best form
6-SPIRANIC (J McDonald/R Northam) She’s a Scone based mare who presents third up with James McDonald aboard for a first time. She scored with authority at Bathurst last start and she’s been produced third up twice. She was a winner on both occasions
RACE SIX 3.25pm MOET & CHANDON SYDNEY STAKES 1200m
2-SIGNORE FOX (J McDonald/P & P Snowden) He resumes after Trialing twice here at home last month with James McDonald in the saddle on both occasions. He scored with authority first up last preparation at Rosehill and he is suitably placed again today
5-BIG PARADE (J Parr/M Newnham) After a dominant first up Kembla Grange win over this trip, he became tested late/Rosehill when a distance rise failed to suit. He regained his best form over 1200m here at home last start. This Race is also within his reach
1-KEMENTARI (H Bowman/J Cummings) He had Trialed at Wyong before he was switched to Melbourne to resume from his spell last start when he tackled this journey at Flemington. He dug very deep to win and he has scope to further progress second up
3-STANDOUT (K McEvoy/G Ryan & S Alexiou) He was resuming from a long spell when he became most unsuited here two starts ago over only 1000m. He relished the step up to this trip here after four weeks off last start and he still has scope to improve
RACE SEVEN 4.15pm THE TAB EVEREST 1200m
1-NATURE STRIP (J McDonald/C Waller) After his emphatic first up win over 1000m last campaign, he was beaten here at short odds second up before he scored with authority after a freshen-up here third up. He follows almost an identical path third up today
3-EDUARDO (N Rawiller/J Pride) This Warwick Farm based gelding had been given three Trials before he resumed here last start when he kept responding to out-finish Nature Strip. He’s Trialed here since and he did score easily second up last preparation
2-CLASSIQUE LEGEND (K McEvoy/L Bridge) He has Trialed twice recently here at his home base in preparation for this first up attempt. He overcame traffic problems to score first up here last campaign and his win in this Race last year was most emphatic
4-GYTRASH (J Collett/G Richards & D Moyle) He is a Morphettville (South Australia) visitor who was already proven at Randwick before he resumed here last start. He was responsible for a very solid effort and he has Trialed at Warwick Farm since
RACE EIGHT 4.50pm YULONG CRAVEN PLATE 2000m
1-THINK IT OVER (N Rawiller/K Parker) He has the natural pace to cheaply cross from wide out and make his own luck up front today. He displayed determination to score when he stepped up significantly to 2000m here last start. He still has scope to improve
2-SHARED AMBITION (J McDonald/C Waller) This Rosehill trained gelding has created an admirable record on this track over this distance. A Gear Change was made before he all but beat Think It Over here last start and he can be expected to hold his form
4-YONKERS (G Schofield/C Waller) After Trialing twice on his home track at Rosehill, he resumed on that track last start when he overcame a traffic problem to score at big odds. He has a second up record which suggests that he’s capable of progressing here
10-SKYLAB (J Parr/P Perry) He returned to Randwick last start when a poor getaway did nothing to aid his cause. He was having his third run back from a spell when he tackled 1600m on the day. Last preparation fourth up over this trip, his effort was excellent
RACE NINE 5.30pm BENTLEY ST LEGER STAKES 2600m
1-ENTENTE (T Clark/G Waterhouse & A Bott) This experienced 5YO is trained on the track, he will be attempting this distance for the first time and he can be expected to cope as he’s had a suitable lead up. His effort was very game here over 2400m last start
4-FUN FACT (J Parr/B Baker) He had been off the scene for thirty-five weeks before he handed in an honest effort at Kembla Grange and he’s unsurprisingly continued to improve as his campaign has unfolded. He did lead throughout in this Race last year!
9-LUNCIES (H Bowman/K Lees) He is now well advanced into his second Australian preparation and he presents today with Gear Changes made. He refused to shirk his task in defeat after he struck traffic problems here/2400m last start. This trip now suits
5-YOUNG RASCAL (S Clipperton/R & M Freedman) He is an imported gelding who was a winner when he made his Australian debut and although he hasn’t won during nine subsequent starts, he did do enough at Rosehill last start to be greatly respected here
14-HIGH EMOCEAN (R King/C Maher & D Eustace) She resumed from a long spell three starts ago at Moonee Valley when she wasn’t disgraced over 1600m. Her subsequent efforts have been after three and five weeks off. She is more suitably placed today
RACE TEN 6.10pm HEINEKEN 3 HANDICAP 1400m
8-PROMISE OF SUCCESS (H Bowman/J O’Shea) This very lightly raced mare presents third up in her second Australian preparation. She was beaten as a short priced Favourite on the Kensington Track last start but she became unsuited. She can atone
1-EQUATION (B Ryan/A Neasham) He is a very lightly raced 4YO who presents third up after finishing unplaced over shorter distances here at both outings since a spell but there were however genuine excuses on both occasions. He’s ready to relish 1400m
3-SUAVE (J McDonald/J Cummings) He was produced second up from a long spell when he dug deep to score/1400m/Warwick Farm last start and he has scope to further improve today. He was a third up winner here/1400m (Kensington track) last campaign
15-CAPE BRETON (G Boss/C Waller) He’s a Rosehill trained colt who begins his second preparation, taking on older opposition but even so, he’s very likely to cope. He’s Trialed twice at home recently and the placement of his Connections must be respected
