April 6, 2019

ATC Autumn Racing Ambassador Kate Waterhouse, The Star Sydney’s Ambassador Erin Holland, chef and restaurateur Matt Moran and some of our favourite reality TV stars hit the track.

A perfect autumn day filled with excitement, entertainment and autumn racing glamour set the scene for the launch of The Championships Day 1 at Royal Randwick on Saturday.

The Gwenda Markwell-trained Angel of Truth took the honours in the Group 1 $2 million Harrolds Australian Derby with a dominant victory.

Earlier in the day, all eyes were on Winx at a special exhibition gallop as the wonder mare continued preparations for her final career start on The Championships Day 2 – Longines Queen Elizabeth Stakes Day, April 13.

At the helm of the day’s celebrations were ATC Autumn Racing Ambassador Kate Waterhouse, The Star Sydney’s Ambassador for The Star Doncaster Mile Erin Holland and chef and restaurateur for the Tabcorp Marquee Matt Moran, curated by Chiswick.

The star-studded line-up of guests also included My Kitchen Rules stars Ibby and Romel, Married at First Sight’s Cam and Jules, and star milliner Viktoria Novak, as they enjoyed the day’s festivities trackside.

Fashionistas put their best foot forward in the Harrolds Fashion Chute at Royal Randwick, and it was the impeccably dressed Carle Rutledge (Ladies) and Andy Peers (Men’s) who took out first place in their respective categories and shared in more than $20,000 in total prizes.
