Rosehill Gardens will feel Spring in the air at ClubsNSW Western Metro Region Raceday this Saturday as a classy group of three year olds head toward some major targets.

Saturday’s $150,000 listed Smithfield RSL Club Rosebud will plant the first seeds of Spring campaigns ahead of a series of races towards Rosehill Gardens’ $1 million Group 1 De Bortoli Wines Golden Rose in September.

The James Cummings Godolphin colt Plague Stone is a warm $2.60 TAB Fixed Odds favourite on Saturday, ahead of the Kim Waugh trained Oxford Tycoon ($4.40 TAB Fixed Odds).

In coming weeks, three year old colts and fillies will contest several features leading up to the $1 million Group 1 De Bortoli Wines Golden Rose on 22 September, including:

  • $200,000 Group 2 Darley Silver Shadow Stakes and $150,000 Group 2 Sydney Markets Up and Coming Stakes at Royal Randwick (18 August);
  • $150,000 Group 3 Singapore Airlines San Domenico Stakes and $150,000 Group 3 Visit Monaco Ming Dynasty at Rosehill Gardens (25 August);
