Rosehill Gardens on Saturday will host Australia’s biggest day of Group 1 racing in a huge celebration on Longines Golden Slipper Day.

Showcasing the best of Sydney’s west which brings together world-class racing and the most creative in fashion, food, music, and entertainment. Wear a dash of gold at western Sydney’s biggest party.

We have put together 7 highlights you don’t want to miss when you’re at trackside.

Gates open at 10:30am with Race 1 at 12.10pm. Public transport is included in your ticket purchase.

  1. Longines Golden Slipper Trophy Photo Moment

Have your photo snapped with the Longines Golden Slipper trophy, an iconic piece in Australia’s storied history or world class racing.

Worth over $25,000, the slipper sits on the finest Italian marble and has a detachable golden bow brooch that’s encrusted with 74 diamonds.

The Golden Slipper trophy perfectly encapsulates what the richest two-year-old horse race in the world is all about.

 2. Enter the Longines Prize for Elegance

Step up and step out in your raceday best and enter the Longines Prize for Elegance with a chance to win an elegant Longines Flagship watch, awarded to the winner at both namesake events.

The Longines Prize for Elegance, which recognises the most elegant female racegoer, celebrates the brand’s longstanding motto “Elegance is an attitude”. Fir inspiration check out our 2023 Autumn Style Guide.

Upload your photo via the entry form which is open 10am – 2pm on Saturday. Keep an eye on our social channels, or the big screen if you’re on course for the ‘Winners’ announcement. We have two categories featuring Best Dressed Female and Best Dressed Male.

3. Longines Golden Slipper – 4.45pm 

Featuring the best two-year-old sprinters in the world the $5 million Longines Golden Slipper is the pinnacle race of the day.

Will Godolphin claim the race again with one of their chances including favourite Cylinder or will leading trainers Annabel Neasham 9Learning To Fly) or Chris Waller (Shinzo, Lazzago, Militarize) win the race for the first time?

4. More world-class Group 1 racing 

With four other Group 1 races on the program in addition to the Longines Golden Slipper, it is truly a day of world-class racing.

The first Group 1 on the program is the Sky Racing Rosehill Guineas (2pm) followed by the Ranvet Stakes (3.15pm), The Agency George Ryder Stakes (4pm), which features Anamoe, and the Kia Ora Galaxy (5.20pm) for sprinters.

5. Indulge in Raceday Fare

The ATC have enhanced food & beverage outlets this Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival. With some great new initiatives, we will also be bringing back some of the old favourites of the past.

Highlights include:

  • Eats at the Gardens again will showcase Sydney’s finest street food vans throughout Carnival.
  • Enjoy a handmade Vodka Espresso Martini from the iconic Mr Black Airstream Van, located behind the JR Fleming Stand
  • Cool off when the temperature rises trackside with classic frozen cocktails including daiquiris and margaritas. Ground floor, J R Fleming Stand.
  • Whether it’s CC & Dry on tap or out of a can, we taste like winning the trifecta, twice! Come grab a CC, we are located on the Ground floor of the J.R. Fleming Stand

6. Dance away the day to PNAU (DJ Set) in an ‘exclusive Sydney’ performance – 6.05pm

The internationally acclaimed multiple ARIA Award-winning and chart-topping act will perform a special 60-minute DJ set including their global hits, exclusively on Longines Golden Slipper Day and The Star Championships Day 1.

Be the first to hear their new their hit LIVE, ‘The Hard Way’, a collaboration with superstar Khalid.

7. Continue the celebrations at the Rosehill Bowling Club

Make sure to head over to the Rosehill Bowling Club after the last race. The beer garden will be open with a live DJ playing. Fantastic food and all your favourite drinks, it is the best place to unwind after another world class day of racing in Sydney.
