Scone Race Club’s feature Saturday meeting comes to Rosehill Gardens this weekend as it joins with the Australian Turf Club to host a strong card of Group and black-type racing.

A total of 126 entries across a nine-race program have accepted, headlined by the $200,000 Inglis 3YO Guineas and the Group 3 $160,000 Emirates Park Dark Jewel Classic.

Four other Listed races each worth $112,000 in prizemoney will be run – the Yarraman Park Woodlands Stakes, TAB Luskin Star Stakes, Coolmore Denise’s Joy Stakes and Arrowfield Ortensia Stakes.

Scone Race Club Chief Executive Heath Courtney said the running of the second day of the Darley Scone Racing Carnival at Rosehill Gardens again highlighted the racing industry’s ability to work together through challenging times.

“This meeting has attracted a significant number of high quality acceptances all vying for their share in excess of $1,000,000 in prizemoney,” Mr Courtney said.

“The Scone Race Club and Upper Hunter community remain very thankful for the close bond shared with world -renowned sales company Inglis.

“Such long-term support afforded to the thoroughbred industry by companies such as Inglis and Darley has never been more vital than in recent months and will not go unnoticed by industry participants and followers.

“The Scone Race Club Board, staff and Members thank the Australian Turf Club and Racing NSW for their tremendous efforts in ensuring the ongoing success of this highly respected Scone meeting.”

The Inglis 3YO Guineas has boom Hawkes Racing galloper Masked Crusader as a $1.85 TAB favourite following his highly impressive win at Royal Randwick last week with Tommy Berry again to ride.

Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott trained Dawn Passage to be ridden by Adam Hyeronimus ($3.20 TAB) and promising John O’Shea filly Rocha Clock ($6.50 TAB) for big race jockey Glen Boss add further class to the field.

Hawkes Racing and Tommy Berry also combine with the $4.60 TAB favourite Amangiri in the $160,000 Emirates Park Dark Jewel Classic.

The capacity 16-horse field offers wide value across the TAB market with Delectation Girl ($6.50 TAB) for trainer Kris Lees and jockey Hugh Bowman second favourite, and a further eight runners under $20 TAB.

The Rosehill Gardens track was rated a Good 4 on Thursday morning, and a video report with Rosehill Gardens Racecourse Manager Shaun Patterson is available here:

Saturday’s meeting is fully covered across Sky Thoroughbred Central on Sky Racing as well as on the TAB App and free to air Channel 7 platforms.
