School children enjoy Royal Randwick visit
June 30, 2021
Champion jockey Hugh Bowman had a special cheersquad on course at the Royal Randwick Kensington meeting on Wednesday, 16 June.
Students from LycĂ©e Condorcet The International French School of Sydney, including Hugh’s own daughter Bambi, visited the raceday on a school excursion.
The group of seven and eight year old’s were not short on noise as they cheered Hugh on and off the track and provided great atmosphere and pictures for the SKY Racing audience – not to mention the crowd on course.
The kids also enjoyed the “For The Love Of The Horse” booklet produced through the ATC Foundation.
The fun and educational resource provides a range of facts as well as activities to better educate young racegoers on horse welfare, history of racing and the work of the Australian Turf Club.
Perhaps not surprisingly, the Q and A session, led by the kids and directed to ATC GM Communications Brett de Vine, was dominated by Winx – Hugh Bowman’s most famous horse.
