Racegoers will be treated to nine great races as well as access to the Sydney Santa Spectacular this Saturday, 19 December at Rosehill Gardens.
Patrons simply need to upgrade their general admission ticket for an additional $25 at the gate for admittance to the rides and entertainment of the Christmas themed fair that is being hosted at the venue.
The Summer Super Saver will also be available to those looking for value, where for a $20 ticket, guests will receive $45 worth of value including entry to the racecourse, one standard drink, one Vili’s pie, a $5 TAB voucher and free entry to any other summer race day on the calendar.
Australian Turf Club Chief Operating Officer Tony Partridge said that Rosehill Gardens will be full of merriment this Saturday.
“This Saturday is the last before Christmas and with more than 1500 seats sold to various Christmas functions across the venue, Rosehill Gardens is sure to be full of holiday season cheer,” said Mr Partridge.
“The Sydney Santa Spectacular will be a great way to entertain the children now that the school holidays have begun and with a nine race program trackside, Rosehill Gardens will have visitors smiling all day.”
On the track, the day will include the running of the $85,000 Cellarbrations Handicap.
Punters have I Am Zelady for Joseph Pride on the top line of betting ($3.20 with TAB Fixed Odds) narrowly ahead of John O’Shea-trained Fitou ($3.40 TAB Fixed Odds). Both entrants are last start winners.
Hieroglyphics ($6.00 TAB Fixed Odds) from the Anthony Cummings yard will be a worthy challenger for the pair having displayed strong form of one win and two close seconds from three starts this preparation.
The $85,000 More than Ready @ Vinery Handicap has seen Kontiki Dane for Gai Waterhouse open as the $5.00 TAB Fixed Odds favourite in a field of 14. The four-year-old mare has come in as the runner up in her last two runs.
Proven over the distance, both Chris Waller’s Rye ($6.00 TAB Fixed Odds) and Bjorn Baker’s Sebrina ($6.00 TAB Fixed Odds) are expected to also be competitive.
The festively named Santa Rocks from the Hawkes stable, has opened at $8.00 TAB Fixed Odds and with recent good form will be another one to watch in what will be a wide-open race.
Paceman ($5.00 TAB Fixed Odds), trained by Joseph Pride is the favoured runner in the $85,000 McGrath Estate Agents Handicap.
The three-year-old led and won by a solid 1.5 Lengths in his last run and will have the added advantage of carrying only 53kgs when he faces the starter on Saturday.
Chris Waller-trained Religify ($6.00 TAB Fixed Odds) has also been supported despite finishing last from 12 horses in his previous start. The gelding had shown decent form, excluding the aforementioned trip, including a determined win at Rosehill Gardens on 31 October.
