ROYAL RANDWICK’S MALT SHOVEL TAPHOUSE OPENS FOR PUNTERS FIVE DAYS A WEEK
December 8, 2022
Royal Randwick’s Malt Shovel Taphouse inside the popular Octagonal Building is opening for punters five days a week with special food and beverage offers and full bookmaker and TAB facilities from this Friday 9 December.
As part of the Australian Turf Club’s relaunched Octagonal Club, punters have free access to well-appointed bar and amenities from Wednesdays through to Sundays covering meetings across Australia.
On non racedays, craft beer prices in the Malt Shovel Taphouse will start from just $6 and special menu items from the ATC’s award-winning chefs will be available.
Customers will not only have access to racing services inside the Octagonal Building but also the expansive lawns surrounding the Malt Shovel Taphouse.
Leading Sydney rails bookmaker David Dwyer will operate on all days, along with TAB-staffed tote facilities combined with a range of EBTs.
Live displays of SKY Racing along with wagering services including off-course betting fluctuations will be available for meetings across NSW and interstate.
Australian Turf Club Executive General Manager Racing and Wagering James Ross said the Malt Shovel Tap House offered punters a quality and value alternative to enjoy racing and a summer afternoon with friends.
“The relaunch of the Octagonal Club and opening of the Malt Shovel Taphouse brings extra services and amenities that punters have enjoyed previously in the former betting auditorium,’’ Mr Ross said.
“Punters will have access to all the live information from around the country to have a bet with bookmakers or the TAB in the best of public facilities at Royal Randwick.”
“On Fridays and Saturdays in particular including days where racing isn’t held at Royal Randwick customers will also have special menu items and offers.’’
Royal Randwick offers free parking and free access to the Octagonal Building via Alison Rd, along with regular light rail services that stop at Royal Randwick station directly outside the main racecourse entrance.
Members of the Octagonal Club, available for free – will receive special offers throughout the year with sign up and further information available here.
