The TAB Everest has captured the attention and imagination of Australia and the world, and Royal Randwick training team Peter and Paul Snowden have created an unforgettable moment in racing history.
To train the winner of the first two editions of the world’s richest race on turf — even more remarkably with the same horse Redzel — deserves extra special recognition.
So too does the achievement of Sydney jockey Kerrin McEvoy — a world-class rider who has combined with Redzel for this historic back-to-back double.
Sydney has an array of trainer and jockey talent week-in and week-out across all of ATC’s tracks, and Peter and Paul Snowden along with Kerrin McEvoy have proven themselves as amongst the best in the world.
The Snowdens’ ability to peak a horse for a major race has few peers, as is their talent with sprinters young and old.
Kerrin McEvoy now adds two Everest victories to a long list of Australian and international achievements, including winning a Golden Slipper and two Melbourne Cups.
Australian Turf Club Chief Executive Officer Jamie Barkley said: “We congratulate Peter and Paul Snowden, and jockey Kerrin McEvoy, for what will forever be an extraordinary piece of Sydney and Australian racing history.
“We also congratulate all of the owners of Redzel, syndicators Triple Crown, and Everest slot holder Yulong Investments.”
