Royal Randwick set to host 5,000 guests on Everest Day

World’s richest race on turf will be Sydney’s first major post-lockdown event

September 21, 2021

We are pleased to advise that when NSW reaches 70 per cent full vaccination rate in early October,  Australian Turf Club will subsequently be able to host 5,000 spectators on Everest Day at Royal Randwick on Saturday 16 October. At this stage, we anticipate that a minimum of 5,000 patrons will be permitted to attend racedays thereafter .

Everest Day and the world’s richest race on turf will now be Sydney’s first major event as we emerge from lockdown.

Please note the NSW Government has stated that all those entering Royal Randwick must be fully vaccinated.

We are now working through ticket allocations, any subsequent refunds, and a plan to ensure a wonderful and safe day for all those attending. We will communicate with you further as plans continue to be finalised in welcoming you back to the track.
