Rosehill Gardens is situated approximately 20km to the west of the Sydney CBD in what is the geographical heart of the city.

Three of the city’s major vehicular arteries – Parramatta Road, Victoria Road and the M4 Motorway service Rosehill Gardens. During Major Carnival racedays a special shuttle service will run direct to the racecourse. Patrons may also travel by Ferry from Circular Quay to Rydalmere and connect with a free bus service.

Buses replace trains

On Sunday 5 January 2020, the T6 Rail Line was decommissioned indefinitely. The rail services between Camellia and Carlingford Station has now ceased operation. The purpose of this closure is to make way for construction to commence works on the Parramatta Light Rail Project, due for completion in 2023.

Bus services replace trains daily with frequent stops from Valentine Avenue, Parramatta to Lloyds Avenue, Carlingford via Hassall Street, Rosehill.

There are no disruptions to accessing the P1, P3 ,P4 and P5 car parks, and the Rosehill footbridge will remain open for entry to the property.

During Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival, a complimentary shuttle service will be in operation from Parramatta Train Station to Rosehill Gardens and return.

Buses from | to Parramatta Wharf

Autumn Timetable
A complimentary return shuttle service (marked RACES) runs from Parramatta Station to Parramatta Wharf, to Rosehill Gardens Racecourse.

If arriving at Parramatta by train you must exit Parramatta Railway Station via the Eastern Concourse and walk down Smith Street until you are opposite Arthur Phillip High School. Buses will depart Smith Street half-hourly.

Buses depart Smith Street bus stop: 10.30am, 11.00am, 11.30am, 12.00noon, 12.30pm, 1.00pm, 1.30pm & 2.00pm.

Bus will meet each Ferry at Parramatta Wharf every hour at approximately 10.40am, 11.40am, 12.40pm,1.40pm & 2.40pm.

Bus will set down passengers at Rosehill Bowling Club and at P3 Car Park on James Ruse Drive.

Return services to Parramatta Wharf and Parramatta Station depart from P3 Car Park Bus Stop on James Ruse Drive at 4.00pm, 4.30pm, 5.00pm, 5.30pm, 6.00pm, 6.30pm (or 15 min after the last race).

Buses from | to Strathfield Station

Summer Timetable
A complimentary return shuttle service (marked RACES) runs from Strathfield Station – Everton Road (Stand A) to Rosehill Gardens Racecourse.

From Strathfield: services leave from Stand A, Everton Road, Strathfield Station every 30 minutes from 10.30am until 2.00pm.

Return services leave from the P3 car park bus stop on James Ruse Drive every hour from 4.30pm to Strathfield until 6.30pm (or 15 min after the last race).

Members Car Parking

Reserved Members Car Parking is based on annual ticketing purchased, limited Unreserved Parking is available in P2, P3 and P4 but does fill quickly. For more information about purchasing a car park pass, please click below.

ATC Members Coach

The exclusive Members’ Coach service runs for the comfort and convenience of ATC Members. Seats on the coach must be pre-purchased prior to the race day in which you wish travel. Click below for more information.


Set Down – Taxis enter Rosehill Gardens Racecourse through the Grand Avenue gates. The set-down point is at the taxi rank. Taxis are not permitted to stop on James Ruse Drive and Grand Ave.

Pick Up –  Taxis are located at the Grand Avenue end of the racecourse adjacent to the Might and Power entry.

Private Coach (Over 3.4M High)

The designated set-down and pick-up area for private coaches (over 3.4m high) is located along the western side of Arthur Street. Private coaches are permitted to park within this area for the duration of the race day.

Mini Bus (Under 3.4M High)

Patrons organising mini-buses (under 3.4m high) to transport them to and from Rosehill Gardens are to use the Grand Ave P1 entry bus stop park for all set-downs and pick-ups. Mini-buses over 3.4m high are to use the private coach designated parking area.

General Admission Parking

There is limited FREE car parking in P4 / P5 car park located on James Ruse Drive & Prospect Street and P6 Infield car park. Entry to the Infield car park is via Gate 2 Unwin Street.

Disabled|Accessible Parking

Limited disabled car parking is available in the P1 and P3 car park. Entry to these car park is via James Ruse Drive P3 and Grand Ave P1 Gate 1. Please ensure a disabled parking sticker is prominently displayed at all times within the vehicle.


Limousines enter Rosehill Gardens Racecourse via the Gate 1 P1 Members Entry. Set-down and pick-up is available. Please follow directions from gate staff. Onsite parking is not available.
