ROSEHILL GARDENS JOINS WORLD POOL ON SATURDAY IN BUMPER AUTUMN FOR PUNTERS

Two feature races including the Group 1 $1.5 million Kia Tancred Stakes at Rosehill Gardens this Saturday will be part of the World Pool, providing larger wagering pools for punters.

Along with this Saturday’s Group 1 Kia Tancred Stakes, the Group 3 $250,000 Racing and Sports Doncaster Prelude will also be part of the World Pool from Rosehill Gardens.

It begins the most extensive coverage of the World Pool during a Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival, ahead of another huge day of Group 1 racing and The Star Doncaster Mile on Saturday week, 6 April at Royal Randwick.

Both days of The Star Championships at Royal Randwick on 6 and 13 April will be covered by the World Pool.

The World Pool is a collaboration between Hong Kong Jockey Club and global totalizator businesses, bringing together parimutual operators across four continents, creating wagering with global liquidity, thus enabling punters to bet into larger and more stable pools.

The result is that larger bets wagered into the World Pool will have less impact on the dividend as the pot is much larger.

Australian Turf Club Head of Racing and Wagering James Ross said this Saturday and the two weeks of The Star Championships at Royal Randwick continued to grow in significance on the international calendar.

“This Autumn will be the most extensive coverage of Sydney racing in the World Pool across several major Carnival racedays at Rosehill Gardens and Royal Randwick,’’ Mr Ross said.

“The participation of horses from Japan, UK and New Zealand add further international interest as Sydney racing is telecast into more than 65 countries around the globe.’’
