The Australian Turf Club (ATC) is excited to announce international rock legend, Richie Sambora and extraordinary singer/songwriter Orianthi, will perform live at TAB Epsom Day on 1 October as a highlight event of the 2016 Sydney Spring Carnival.
Bon Jovi guitarist and all round rock legend, Richie Sambora and Aussie-born vocalist Orianthi, will be touring Australia as RSO from September 2016. Their highlight gig is set to take place over-looking the spectacular Theatre of the Horse at Royal Randwick after the final race of TAB Epsom Day, Sydney’s hottest day of Group 1 racing a pinnacle sporting event of the long weekend.
The RSO performance will be included with race day entry which starts from only $30 pre purchased.
RSO will play to thousands of racegoers in the Theatre of the Horse as well as those in the Royal Randwick grandstand who will have excellent vantage points. Grammy Award Winner, Sambora and Orianthi will perform an impressive catalogue of classic tracks and covers to close the race day for an anticipated crowd of 25,000.
Richie Sambora says of the performance, “I can’t wait to perform at TAB Epsom Day. From what I hear, the atmosphere will be electric, Orianthi and I can’t wait to add a bit of magic to what will already be an impressive day.”
TAB Epsom Day is not to be missed, boasting over $2 million in prize money across three Group 1 races including the $1 million TAB Epsom Handicap, Sydney will come to life to celebrate this huge weekend of sport and memorable entertainment.
The ATC has already announced new initiatives in food, fashion and entertainment for TAB Epsom Day. New to the Sydney Spring Carnival, racegoers will also be able to visit The Mews. Located on the Octagonal Lawn, The Mews promises to deliver Australia’s best gastronomic and entertainment experience to a day at the races. With a live DJ throughout the day, premium food stalls and a Heineken 3 Bar, The Mews will be another highlight of the Sydney Spring Carnival.
The Bucket List is also set to return to Carnival with a ticketed marquee on the Leger Lawn over the five major race days, commencing with TAB Epsom Day and concluding McGrath Estate Agents Melbourne Cup Day on 1 November.
