Q&A WITH KATE WATERHOUSE
The Channel 7 Presenter sits down with us to discuss all things Sydney Everest Carnival
September 19, 2023
The name Waterhouse is synonymous with Sydney racing and more so when you consider the Autumn and Spring Carnivals. Channel 7 Presenter Kate Waterhouse sat down with us to discuss all things Sydney Everest Carnival.
WHAT ARE YOU MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS SYDNEY EVEREST CARNIVAL?
I am so excited for the Sydney Everest Carnival. It’s a beautiful time of the year in Sydney – it’s warm, the sun is shining, and we have amazing weather in Sydney. Group 1 Races are taking place every weekend across Sydney, and we get to dress up and enjoy the experience.
I love presenting colour and fashion for 7 Racing and getting to the track to see the fashion, hospitality and the races is an amazing experience. I love being able to get down and see all the incredible outfits on display and enjoy the atmosphere at the track.
WHAT FASHION TRENDS / STYLES WILL BE PROMINENT THIS SPRING?
Look to the dress codes and take notes from what makes each day unique and then put your own spin on it. Whether you’re trying new things with accessories or going bold with your colour, there’s a way to stand out while still enjoying a fabulous day out with a group of friends. This weekend’s Sydney Surf to Turf takes fashion inspiration with “a splash of red” to bring some vibrant colour to the track and celebrate the start of Spring.
DO YOU HAVE ANY ADVICE FOR FIRST TIME RACEGOERS ATTENDING THE SYDNEY EVEREST CARNIVAL ON HOW TO ENJOY THEIR DAY?
For first time race goers, it’s an incredible day to experience. You can get a group of friends together and enjoy the fashion, the many hospitality options on the track, the races and celebrate in the gorgeous Spring weather in Sydney.
IT WAS THE INAUGURAL SYDNEY SURF TO TURF DAY LAST SATURDAY. WHAT WERE YOUR THOUGHTS ON THIS EXCITING CONCEPT?
The Sydney Surf to Turf Day is a wonderful concept as there is so much variety in options for Sydneysiders to enjoy. It really showcases the variety of amazing things to appreciate and experience in Sydney, and there’s nothing quite like being able to take a swim at Bondi Beach in the morning and be on the track at Randwick by lunchtime to enjoy some world class racing.
