PNAU (DJ SET) TO HEADLINE “AFTER THE LAST” CONCERT SERIES THIS SYDNEY AUTUMN RACING CARNIVAL
February 17, 2023
In an Australian exclusive, The Australian Turf Club has officially announced internationally acclaimed Australian dance trio PNAU (DJ SET) as the headline music act on Longines Golden Slipper Day at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday 18 March and The Star Championships Day 1 at Royal Randwick on Saturday 1 April.
The internationally acclaimed multiple ARIA Award-winning and chart-topping act will perform a special 60-minute DJ set including their global hits, at the two iconic Autumn Racing Carnival race days – only in Sydney.
Sydney’s famous After the Last concert series will also feature the world’s first time-traveling DJ Hot Dub Time Machine and energetic performers Furnace and the Fundamentals who along with PNAU (DJ SET) will entertain racegoers throughout the Carnival, all-inclusive in the race day admission ticket.
LA based PNAU members are excited to head back to their hometown of Sydney to perform exclusively at two of the most anticipated race days at this year’s Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival.
PNAU (DJ SET)’s first Sydney show will be on Longines Golden Slipper Day at Rosehill Gardens. The day will feature an astonishing five Group 1 races, including the 67th running of the world’s richest race for two-year-olds the Longines Golden Slipper, against a kaleidoscope of colour, fashion and entertainment.
Their second Sydney-only show kicks off The Championships – the Grand Finals of Australian Racing – at Royal Randwick, on a day where black and white style reigns and global attention turns to Group 1 racing including the Australian Derby, The Star Doncaster Mile and TJ Smith Stakes. General Admission racegoers at Royal Randwick will also enjoy Australia’s best general admission facility in The Winx Stand as part of their general admission ticket.
International DJ Hot Dub Time Machine will return to Royal Randwick for The Championships Day 2 – Longines Queen Elizabeth Stakes Day, Saturday 8 April (Easter Long Weekend). This iconic raceday features four Group 1’s headlined by the 70th running of the Longines Queen Elizabeth Stakes. This will be the 4th time that the Australian DJ has performed at the After the Last series, following on from the enormous popularity of his set at the last carnival.
“I can’t wait to get back to Royal Randwick. I love performing at the spectacular Theatre Of The Horse after a day at the races. It’s always an incredible vibe and an epic way to cap off a memorable day.,” DJ Tom Lowndes said.
Furnace and the Fundamentals, the ultimate party starters, will be bringing their eclectic blend of the world’s most loved songs from The Beatles to Beyonce, Queen to Daft Punk, for Schweppes All Aged Stakes Day, the Carnival finale party at Royal Randwick on Saturday 15 April.
ATC Executive General Manager Commercial Melinda Madigan said: “We are thrilled to have secured PNAU (DJ SET) for a two-show Australian exclusive this Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival. The unrivalled combination of live music with world-class racing, hospitality, fashion, and a super-charged Carnival atmosphere make this six-week Carnival the hottest ticket in town.
Hot Dub Time Machine and Furnace and the Fundamentals are also incredible artists who have played all over the world and are returning by popular demand to inject even more excitement and entertainment for our racegoers.”
“This Autumn promises to be an unmissable spectacle and we are excited to welcome all locals and visitors to Sydney’s iconic Rosehill Gardens and Royal Randwick to celebrate unique and unforgettable all-day entertainment experiences,” Ms. Madigan said.
