March 13, 2023
Sydney’s racing and fashion communities and social event goers came together on Saturday 11 March at Rosehill Gardens for a very special celebration – the annual Pink Fashion Lunch supporting the McGrath Foundation.
The highly entertaining event, now in its fourth year, was again a highlight on the opening day of Sydney’s coveted Autumn Racing Carnival. More than 400 people enjoyed the spectacular event in the Grand Pavilion, which celebrated the carnival’s unique blend of fashion, hospitality, and entertainment alongside world-class racing.
The Pink Fashion Lunch has cemented itself as the fashion and hospitality event of the season. Some attendees flew in from interstate to be part of the celebration, and among the crowd were special international guests Kate, Charlotte and Georgia Connick Jnr, daughters of international star Harry Connick Jnr.
This year, the ATC Foundation raised funds on behalf of McGrath Foundation to help fund McGrath Breast Care Nurses.

ATC Foundation Chair, Angela Belle McSweeney, thanked the Australian Turf Club’s event partner the McGrath Foundation for the most successful Pink Fashion Lunch since inception four years ago.
“I warmly congratulate The Australian Turf Club team for so brilliantly incorporating my vision for The Pink Luncheon as the fabulous introduction to our wonderful Autumn Carnival carrying prize money of $41 million,” Ms McSweeney said.
“A wonderful result was achieved for the MCGrath Foundation through the Australian Turf Club Foundation. Grateful appreciation is extended to our sponsors, in particular Cerrone Jewellers and NIc Cerrone OAM. The Pink Luncheon is now in its 4th year and has been firmly established as one of Sydney’s iconic events, not to be missed.”
The ATC Foundation raised $26,362.65 at the Pink Fashion Lunch with all proceeds being donated to the McGrath Foundation to fund McGrath Breast Care Nurse initiatives.
A highlight of the lunch was the vibrant Autumn racewear fashion show, featuring some of the latest collection from ATC Official Autumn Fashion Partner and profiled Australian fashion label, Carla Zampatti. The specially choreographed show gave a nod to the unique fun and excitement of being at the races with friends. An exclusive live performance by Australia’s ARIA Award-winning artist, Paulini had the entire 400 guests up and dancing for the event finale.
There was plenty of great racing action on the track with champion trainer Chris Waller winning his first Coolmore Classic with star four-year-old mare, Espiona.
The Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival continues this Saturday 18 March at Rosehill Gardens with Australia’s biggest day of Group 1 racing, Longines Golden Slipper Day – featuring the world’s richest race for two-year-olds, the $5m Longines Golden Slipper.
In addition to world-class racing, racegoers will experience the trackside entertainment including “Carnival Karaoke” and roving DJs, pop-up bars, the Pamper Lounge and Sydney’s most innovative street food vendors.
Plus included in the Slipper Day ticket, racegoers will dance the day away to an exclusive, Sydney-only live performance by multi–ARIA Award winning PNAU (DJ SET) who will perform for the first time live their latest hit “The Hard Way” a collaboration with Khalid, as well as their chart-topping hits.
