NOVA’S TIM BLACKWELL ANNOUNCED AS KIA FRIDAY NIGHT RACING AT CANTERBURY FAMILY AMBASSADOR

November 12, 2021

Kia Friday Night Racing at Canterbury Park returns bigger and better than ever to keep families and friends entertained across balmy summer evenings from Schweppes Opening Night, on November 12 until February 18, 2022.

Whether indulging in the famous Street Food Lovers Market with mouth-watering culinary dishes from iconic food trucks Greek Street, Benny Burgers Brah, Bao Brothers or Joe’s Ice Cream, opting for upscale dining in The Guineas Restaurant, a private Open Terrace party space or simply enjoying an Australian Turf Club gourmet picnic hamper on the picturesque lawns, there is something fun for everyone at Canterbury Park.

Pony rides, petting zoos, jumping castle, tea cup and turbo tub rides are just some of free entertainment on offer in Sydney’s inner west, while families are also invited to embrace specially themed nights including Kids Dress Up (November 26 , Christmas Special (December 10 & 17), Footy Fan Night (January 21), Lunar New Year (February 11) and Love The Horse (February 18).

Adults can enjoy The Canterbury Social – a popular trackside beer garden with live acoustic music – while taking in the exciting racing action under lights and incredible array of Kia vehicles on display.

To help promote  Kia Friday Night Racing at Canterbury, Nova’s popular drive time radio co-host Tim Blackwell, of the famous Kate, Tim and Joel show, will be trackside with his family as Ambassadors to enjoy the free family spoils and soak in the atmosphere on November 26.

“I love a day at the races so I’m excited to get trackside for the Kia Friday Night Racing at Canterbury Park with my family on November 26. The kids are already planning their outfits!

“The chilled racing vibe under lights, Street Food Lovers Market, The Canterbury Social trackside beer garden, and free kids’ entry and entertainment is incredibly appealing and a great way to spend time with family and friends during the summer,” said Blackwell.

Melinda Madigan, Australian Turf Club Executive General Manager Commercial, said the Club is excited to showcase the  Kia Night Racing family friendly offering to Sydneysiders and looking forward to welcoming the Blackwell’s trackside.

“Kia Friday Night Racing at Canterbury Park has seen a positive growth trajectory and great success in recent years with thousands turning out weekly to enjoy the free family entertainment, hospitality, popular Foodies Market and top-class racing. It’s a unique and welcoming experience and one that we’re pleased to align with our Kia Friday Night Racing Family Ambassador, Tim Blackwell and his family”.
