Following discussions with Racing NSW this morning, the Australian Turf Club will implement procedures for this Wednesday’s meeting at Royal Randwick and Saturday’s Longines Golden Slipper meeting at Rosehill Gardens following the ongoing outbreak of the Coronavirus.
Both race meetings will be conducted with no spectators in accordance with a directive from the Federal Government and NSW Health authorities to protect our staff and address concerns of the public.
No more than 500 people are permitted into the racecourses.
Only essential Racing NSW and Australian Turf Club staff, some licensed racing participants, and a restricted number of broadcast and media representatives will be permitted to attend.
Owners and Australian Turf Club Members along with general admission customers will not be allowed entry.
All general admission tickets for Saturday’s Longines Golden Slipper Stakes raceday will be refunded in full by the ticketing agency.
Race meetings will continue to be fully broadcast across SKY Racing and its digital platforms (Royal Randwick on Wednesday) and both SKY and Channel 7 on Saturday at Rosehill Gardens.
Both sites will be in full lockdown with ATC security staff to check and allow only essential licensed and accredited, and approved, racing participants entry to the racecourses.
Annual accreditation as well as dedicated Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival accreditation across all industry and media WILL NOT guarantee entry to race meetings whilst the Federal Government restrictions remain in place.
The Australian Turf Club’s top priority is everyone’s health and wellbeing, particularly industry participants.
We highly recommend all participants and those permitted on to our racecourses follow the health advice warnings from Government and official health organisations.
We are committed to keeping everyone informed and will provide further updates in due course.
