Training tracks and infrastructure at Rosehill Gardens move into a new era today as the Australian Turf Club opens a modern Pro-Ride surface at the Western Sydney racecourse.

The 1700m-long and six-metre wide Pro-Ride track, consisting of a special mix of sand, polymer and fibre materials, also includes full plastic running rails and allows trainers a new all-weather surface to train and prepare racehorses.

The Pro-Ride track is the first stage of a multi-million enhancement of training facilities at Rosehill Gardens, with Stage Two commencing at the end of February to convert the former Pro-Ride track into a new sand training track surface.

Australian Turf Club Acting Joint CEOs James Heddo and Matt Galanos said the Rosehill Gardens work was part of major investment by the Club in track and training facilities at all of its racecourses across Sydney.

Mr Heddo said: “Rosehill Gardens is home to some of the world’s best racehorses and trainers and these new training tracks will upgrade our facilities to a world-class standard.

Mr Galanos said: “The Australian Turf Club is continuing major investment in training and racing infrastructure at all of our racecourses, and we look forward to these and further enhancements at the home of the Longines Golden Slipper at Rosehill Gardens.’’
