A lucky couple from New Jersey in the United States has won a “once in a lifetime opportunity” from the Australian Turf Club to travel to Sydney and attend The Championships at Royal Randwick during the Sydney Autumn Carnival in April.

Rita and Bob Kasinow attended Equestricon in Louisville, Kentucky, earlier this month and won the grand prize from the Australian Turf Club.

It includes flights for two to Sydney, five nights’ accommodation at Bondi Beach and a premium hospitality and behind-the-scenes experience at The Championships Day 2 on April 13, 2019.

The Championships Day 2 features the running of the Group 1 Longines Queen Elizabeth Stakes, which could be the final race in the amazing career of the great mare Winx.

“Rita and I are very much anticipating the April 2019 Championships at Royal Randwick and are excited to be attending a great international racing event at a world-class venue,” Bob Kasinow told America’s Best Racing.

“Traveling to Australia is a once in a lifetime opportunity, and we are looking forward to it! As a passionate lifelong Thoroughbred racing fan that began many years ago working with horses at Monmouth Park and continuing as an avid handicapper and co-owner, seeing Australian racing firsthand will be an awesome treat.

“We may also see the great Winx run only adding to this special trip.”

The Championships Day 2 at Royal Randwick also features the running of the Group 1 Schweppes Sydney Cup, the Group 1 Australian Oaks and the Group 1 Coolmore Legacy Stakes.

“The Championships is a major race meeting in Australia with over $21 million in prizemoney and a huge amount of quality racing,” James Ross, ATC General Manager of Racing, said.

“They’ll be able to have a behind the scenes tour throughout the week and on race day, and also experience one of the best cites in the world for tourism.”

Equestricon is a premiere horse racing lifestyle event that celebrates the sport of racing with its fans. It is an international horse racing convention, fan festival, and trade show that brings together fans, stakeholders and industry insiders in a lively atmosphere of engagement and entertainment.
