Nine Unmissable Highlights on Moët and Chandon Spring Champion Stakes Day

October 20, 2022

The Sydney Everest Carnival continues at Royal Randwick on Saturday for Moët and Chandon Spring Champion Stakes Day with $6 million on offer across all races.

Here are 9 things you don’t want to miss when you’re at trackside. Gates open at 11.30am for members and 11.45am for all other guests with race 1 at 12:30pm.

  1. Experience the TAB Dome

Step inside the future of betting at the TAB Dome to get the inside scoop about the new TAB app and the powerful tools and features it provides. A purpose-built APP LAB has been designed to place bets and watch the days races. Head to the TAB Dome to experience racing like never before.

2. Glam up at the Glam House

Step inside The Glam House, a precinct to ensure you look your best all day long! We recommend wearing pastel colours for this one. With hair and makeup artists on hand for quick touch ups, a perfume parlour for an aromatic refresh, fashion illustrators ready to sketch your raceday look and race day essentials. Find out more here.

3. Check out the world-class WINX Stand

The impressive WINX Stand named after the legendary mare is open to all racegoers to enjoy.  The ground floor will feature DJ and food outlets which opens up on to the Leger lawn to get close to the racing action. Upstairs in The Gallery North Room will feature a sports bar with bespoke food offering and betting activation. While The Gallery South has DJs with cocktails and tapas. The open terrace is also home to the Happy Clapper Bar which has one of the best views on track. Watch here.

4. The $2 million Group 1 Moët & Chandon Spring Champion Stakes

The $2 million Moët & Chandon Spring Champion Stakes is the only Group 1 event on the 10-race program. The best staying three-year-olds step up in distance over the 2000m journey. Elliptical is rated the one to beat travelling from Victoria for Anthony and Sam Freedman.

5. The $2 million The Invitation

The second running of the $2 million feature race will see popular galloper Icebath looking to defend her title. The 1400m race for fillies and mares is shaping as another great edition.

6. $1 million TAB Callander-Presnell

The newly named Group 2 race with $1 million in prize money pays tribute to two of the great press men in Ken Callander and Max Presnell. Tune in to Sky Thoroughbred Central to watch “Callander & Presnell – The Best Of The Press” on 10.30pm Saturday night or on their digital channels.

7. Visit the Grainshaker drinks cart

Stop by the Grainshaker photo op and drinks cart located behind the QEII – It’s vodka the Australian Way. Light, refreshing and zesty, Grainshaker Lime and Soda and Pink Grapefruit are low sugar, full of flavour, use all natural ingredients – and only 100 calories per can! 8. Indulge in raceday fare

We’ve enhanced 24 food & beverage outlets leading into Spring. Members can head to the Carbine Café to find boutique finger sandwiches including the iconic crab, house-made signature desserts and fine coffee. The Epsom Cheese and Wine Bar by Petaluma provides shared platters and artisan cheese and salumi from predominantly New South Wales producers. The adjacent Kensington Room will offer a twist on the much-loved pie and mash combination. Oaks Café will serve market fresh seafood cooked to order including the popular Furphy beer battered fish and fat chips.

On the members’ lawn a new American-style smokehouse will serve slow-cooked beef brisket and signature burgers. Also check out the divine handmade Espresso Martini from the iconic Mr Black Airstream Van, or Lobster & Co’s iconic Lobster Roll served with a glass of Champagne and Truffle Parmesan Fries.

9. Dance to the beats of Miami Horror
