The Junior Pass Holder is a great way to harness a love of horses.

The Junior Pass, is an introduction to the heart and soul of racing which allows your child to experience, first hand, the hard-work, passion and commitment surrounding the Australian racing industry.

The Junior Pass Includes:

  • ATC Welcome Pack including Junior Pass
  • Email event invitations and updates about upcoming family race days
  • Elevation to ATC ‘Full Membership – 35 and Under’ without a joining fee upon reaching 18 years of age


When a Junior Pass Holder turns 18, they will have the opportunity to become a Young Member of the Australian Turf Club avoiding the current ‘Wait List’ requirements.

Persons under the age of 18 are not permitted entry to the racecourse unless accompanied by a responsible adult, and must remain within the immediate vicinity of the adult at all times. The adult is responsible for the care, conduct and supervision of the young person, and for any acts or omissions of that young person. Liquor Act 2007 For the purpose of the definition of responsible adult, a person who is of or above the age of 18 years and who;

Liquor Act 2007: 
(a) a parent, step-parent or guardian of the minor, 
(b) the minor’s spouse or any person who, although not legally married to the minor, ordinarily lives with the minor as the minor’s spouse on a permanent and domestic basis, 
(c) a person who is, for the time being, in loco parentis* to the minor.

*The term “in loco parentis” describes a relationship similar to that of a parent to a child; specifically it refers to an individual who assumes parental status and responsibilities for another individual, usually a young person, without formally adopting that person. For example, legal guardians stand in loco parentis with respect to their wards.
