McDonald Rides Four Winners on Sydney Surf To Turf Day
The Sydney Everest Carnival kicked off in style at Royal Randwick this afternoon.
Sydney Surf To Turf Day provided many highlights with Autumn Glow being one of the standouts.
The unbeaten filly made it three wins from as many starts with a brilliant performance in the Group 2 Darley Tea Rose Stakes.
Ridden confidently by James McDonald, Autumn Glow (trained by Chris Waller) did all the work outside the leader yet ran away for an impressive win. It was the first of four straight winners for McDonald.
Other highlights on a memorable day included:
- I Am Me scorching down the Randwick straight to win the $1m Yarraman Park Shorts
- Fangirl looping the field to secure the $1m 7+ Sport Stakes
- James McDonald riding the Quaddie with Autumn Glow, Fangirl, I Am Me and Moravia
- Chris Waller bagging three winners of his own with Mchale, Autumn Glow and Fangirl
- Tim Clark (El Castello & Eliyass) and Zac Lloyd (Perennial & Floating) securing winning doubles as well as Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott (Eliyass & Moravia)
