Hong Kong racing’s longest established trainer John Moore is moving to Sydney to set up a training partnership with his brother Gary at Rosehill Gardens.

The pair will formally begin the training partnership on 5 August 2020 after final licensing approval from Racing NSW this week.

Australian Turf Club Executive General Manager Racing Services James Ross said the move further strengthened Sydney racing’s training ranks.

“John Moore is recognised as one of international racing’s most accomplished trainers and his move to Rosehill Gardens is a further vote of confidence in Sydney’s world-class racing,” Mr Ross said.

“We look forward to seeing John and Gary Moore bring more horses, owners and runners to Sydney racing.”

John Moore has trained almost 1,700 winners since beginning his training career in Hong Kong in 1985.

His stable has produced the past six winners of the Hong Kong Horse of The Year; Military Attack, Designs On Rome, Able Friend, Werther, Rapper Dragon and Beauty Generation (twice).
