KIA GOLDEN ROSE GROWS INTO A SPRING SENSATION ON SATURDAY AT ROSEHILL GARDENS

A select group of Australia’s best three-year-olds clash in the pivotal Group 1 $1 million Kia Golden Rose at Rosehill Gardens this Saturday on day two of the $87 million Sydney Everest Carnival.
The Group 1 $1 million Kia Golden Rose has attracted a crack field including early TAB favourite Cylinder ($4-$3.80) for trainer James Cummings and ace jockey Nash Rawiller, and reigning Golden Slipper champion Shinzo ($5-$5.50 TAB) for trainer Chris Waller and superstar UK jockey Ryan Moore.
Both colts are also high in TAB markets and heading towards the $20 million TAB Everest at Royal Randwick on Saturday 14 October.
Chris Waller’s dual Group 1-winning colt Militarize ($10 TAB) will be ridden by world-renowned Brazilian and Hong Kong champion jockey Joao Moreira who returns to Sydney for another riding stint across the Sydney Everest Carnival.
Charm Stone – aiming to become the first filly to win the Group 1 race in Spring – has been strongly backed $7.50-$6 TAB for trainers Mick Price and Michael Kent Jr and star Victorian jockey Damian Lane.
Saturday’s field also sees Group 1-winning colt King Colorado $7-$6.50 TAB line up for Ciaron Maher and David Eustace (jockey Jason Collett) and stablemate Nadal ($17 TAB) for boom young jockey Zac Lloyd.

Australian Turf Club Head of Racing and Wagering James Ross said the Group 1 $1 million Kia Golden Rose was the highlight of another stellar day of Group racing this Saturday.
“The Kia Golden Rose continues to grow as one of the defining races of the Sydney spring for three-year olds staying to sprint journeys such as the TAB Everest or races over 1600m and beyond,’’ Mr Ross said.
“This year’s field stands as amongst the best renewals in its history with many of Australia’s best three-year-olds, the country’s leading trainers and two of the world’s very best jockeys in Ryan Moore and Joao Moreira.
“They take on not only the cream of some of Australia’s best jockeys but also pleasingly two of the rising stars of the riding ranks in Zac Llloyd and Dylan Gibbons in a stellar field.

Saturday’s Kia Golden Rose Day also features the Group 2 $400,000 Racing and Sports Golden Pendant, Group 2 $300,000 Ned Whisky Shannon Stakes, Group 3 $250,000 James Squire Colin Stephen Quality and Listed $200,000 Petaluma Heritage Stakes.
The action isn’t solely focused on the track as there are a number of activations and entertainment options located throughout Rosehill Gardens on the day.
The Kia Car Activation is sure to catch the eye of many a punter while there is a host of food and beverage options to cater for all including some of Sydney’s best food trucks, the NED Whisky Bar and much, much more.
