Kia Friday Night Racing Season at Canterbury Park in Sydney’s inner west is back for the summer from 13 November until 26 February, featuring free kids entertainment, iconic night food markets, award winning hospitality, live music, pop-up bars and thrilling racing under lights.
Hosted in a COVID Safe environment, each family-friendly event will feature a unique theme including “Christmas Festivities”, “Love The Horse” and “Footy Fan Night”, with an endless stream of activities from the Safari Experience Jumping Castle, giant slide, tea cup and saucer rides to Santa Claus visits and football clinics.
Food lovers can purchase picnic hampers, bar platters and restaurant dining by ATC’s award winning catering team, or enjoy the famous night food markets featuring Sydney’s best street food vans from wood-fired pizza, seafood paella, Asian delights, mouth-watering burgers to smoked meats and sweet treats. New this year is The Canterbury Social – an exclusive trackside beer garden which for just $20 includes an unreserved seat and table, a $10 drinks voucher plus access to the Members area and all family activities.
While racecourse entry remains free on a walk-up basis across the three-month summer carnival, the COVID Safe crowd capacity of approximately 4,000 means tickets each night will be strictly limited. Therefore, to guarantee entry, visitors are encouraged to pre-purchase a $10 advance ticket which includes a $10 drink voucher to redeem at the venue on the night. Free childrens’ tickets can also be booked in advance.
Each ticket includes racecourse entry, access to a seated table within a specified ticketed area that offers full amenities along with the ability to walk with purpose to enjoy all the trackside activities, entertainment, day-stalls and mounting yard.
Corina Black, ATC Executive General Manager of Commercial said the Kia Night Racing Season at Canterbury Park has never looked more appealing across the summer period, kicking off with the Schweppes Opening Night this Friday.
“Kia Friday Night Racing is one of the most popular, value for money summer events in Sydney’s inner west, with thousands of people turning out each night for free entertainment, great food offerings and thrilling racing under lights.
“This event is embraced every year by local and surrounding communities, so whether you are celebrating with colleagues, friends or family, we look forward to welcoming guests to a fantastic Friday night experience in a COVID Safe environment at Canterbury Park.”
Kia Motors Australia Chief Operating Officer, Damien Meredith, said Kia Friday Night Racing has become a staple social event within the Inner West of Sydney region.
“The series provides a great night out and has grown exponentially over the past three years that Kia have been involved as naming rights partner. The event brings about a great sense of the local community and we’re excited to see how the oncoming summer plays out.”
Gates open at 5.15pm ahead of race 1 which is scheduled for 6.15pm.
