AUSTRALIAN TURF CLUB PRESENTS AWARDS ON INDUSTRY RECOGNITION DAY

The Australian Turf Club has today presented a series of special awards to owners and racing participants at Rosehill Gardens on Industry Recognition Day at the final Sydney metropolitan meeting of the 2021/22 racing season.
The awards were attended by owners, ATC Members and racing participants before the start of Race 1 today.
Several races were today named in honour of the industry including the NSWROA Trophy, ATC Thank You Owners Handicap, ATC Thank You Stable Staff Handicap and ATC Thank You Trainers Handicap.

The winners and connections of the awards today across the 2021/22 Metropolitan season are:
- ABOVE AND BEYOND – Most starts (total 14 for Warwick Farm trainer Gary Portelli) at Australian Turf Club courses
- GODOLPHIN – with 49 victories, Most Winning Owner at ATC courses
- GODOLPHIN – at 17.9 per cent, High Strike Rate Owner at ATC courses
- FIREBURN – with a rating of 118 and winner of the Longines Golden Slipper, Most Improved Horse at ATC courses
- MISS JAY FOX – for Warwick Farm trainer Bjorn Baker, Most Starts at Canterbury Friday Night Racing
- SHELBY SIXTYSIX – for Goulburn trainer Danny Williams, Most Starts at Australian Turf Club courses (trained outside the Metro area)
- THINK IT OVER – with six wins including the Longines Queen Elizabeth Stakes for Kembla Grange trainer Kerry Parker, Most wins at Australian Turf Club courses
- SPECIAL ACHIEVEMENT – SHELBY SIXTYSIX (started season benchmark 63, finished as benchmark 102 including 2022 Group 1 Furphy Galaxy

Australian Turf Club Executive General Manager Racing and Wagering James Ross said Industry Recognition Day was an important part of the ATC calendar and a fitting end to the racing season.

“This raceday is an important way to celebrate the contribution of owners, trainers, jockeys, stable staff and horses at all Australian Turf Club tracks right throughout the year,’’ Mr Ross said.
