Hill Stakes Day Takes Rosehill Gardens To New Level
October 7, 2023
Montefilia stole the show on another spectacular day of racing during the Sydney Everest Carnival.
Attention turned to Rosehill Gardens today for Hill Stakes Day and the feature certainly didn’t disappoint.
Chris Waller’s Montefilia stormed home for Nash Rawiller to take out the $2million Petaluma Wines Hill Stakes, producing a sensational turn of foot in the straight.
Rawiller then captured the $1.5million Alan Brown Stakes on Cepheus for Matthew Dunn just 35 minutes later, continuing on his sensational form during the carnival.
If that wasn’t enough, he made it a feature treble on the bounce thanks to Magic Time (for trainer Grahame Begg) in the Group 2 $200,000 Nivison.
Other highlights from the day included:
*Tyler Shiller rating filly Makarena a treat in $500,000 Toyota Forklifts Tapp-Craig
*King’s Gambit rattling home along the fence under Tommy Berry to win the Group 2 $300,000 Roman Consul Stakes
*Team Snowden landing a double thanks to Pierossa (ACY Securities Handicap) and King’s Gambit
Focus now will be on TAB Everest Day next Saturday, 14 October at Royal Randwick.
It is sure to be another memorable day for the Sydney Everest Carnival.
