A letter to the editor in today’s Sunday Telegraph has summed up the feeling of racegoers who attended the great mare Winx’s farewell at The Championships Day 2 – Longines Queen Elizabeth Stakes Day last Saturday.

“As an enthusiastic racegoer and a lover of horses, I congratulate the ATC, which hosted more than 43,000 people at Royal Randwick to have an exciting and memorable day which we will always remember in years to come,” Jean Shaw from Cremorne in Sydney wrote.
