Golden Eagle Day at Rosehill Gardens will come alive with an international flavour of fashion as designers from around the globe showcase their latest styles.
Fabrics of Multicultural Australia (FOMA) will launch four exclusive ‘Capsule Collections’ from leading regional and Greater Western Sydney designers in a raceday fashion show at the Grand Pavilion Luncheon.
FOMA provides a sustainable platform for the creative sector that generates trade opportunities, unites cultures and fosters social cohesion. FOMA showcases the interweaving threads that collectively form the unique identity of contemporary Australia.
Corina Black, Executive General Manager Commercial at the Australian Turf Club, said it was exciting to be working with FOMA to highlight the fashions of our culturally diverse nation.
“The Australian Turf Club is proud to collaborate with FOMA to showcase emerging fashion designers from multicultural backgrounds,” Ms Black said.
“The ATC embraces the diversity of our ever-evolving city and is a big supporter of the fashion industry in general.
“We welcome the opportunity to provide a platform for local talent from Western Sydney communities and to celebrate their amazing designs on Golden Eagle Day – Rosehill Gardens’ biggest day of Everest Carnival.”
Designers presenting their lines on Golden Eagle Day include Anjilla Seddeqi (Afghanistan), Carole Maher (Australia), Colleen Tighe Johnson (First Nations People), Gina Barjeel (Jordan) and Mayen Benson (Nigeria). All fashion models in the runway show will also be from diverse, multicultural backgrounds.
Guests in the Grand Pavilion Luncheon will enjoy a luxurious three-course meal curated by Australian Turf Club Executive Chef Gerry Maher and his award-winning team.
The highlight of the on-track action is the running of the $7.5 million Iron Jack Golden Eagle, with 10 per cent of all winnings being donated to charities.
