A superb function at Rosehill Gardens’ biggest raceday event of the year, Longines Golden Slipper Day, secured a prestigious award for Western Sydney’s premier venue.
The Australian Turf Club’s Rosehill Gardens won the Best Function/Convention Centre Caterer category at the NSW Restaurant and Catering Awards at The Star last night.
The “Gold Room” function in the multi-purpose Grand Pavilion on Longines Golden Slipper Day also secured Rosehill Gardens enough points from judges to claim the coveted Caterer of the Year Award.
Rosehill Gardens Racecourse General Manager Matt Sharman said the ATC venue was able to host a range of different events for up to 1500 people across a variety of spaces every day of the week.
Amongst other major functions held at Rosehill Gardens during the year are the Premier’s Harmony Dinner, a gala function for 1500 people, and Australia’s biggest-attended charity raceday function for the ASX Thomson Reuters Charity Foundation.
The hugely-popular Sydney Caravan & Camping Expo is also based at Rosehill Gardens, and as one of the nation’s hallmark events draws massive crowds to Western Sydney each year.
“We are a unique venue for all of Sydney, proudly based in the heart of the West, which offers diverse spaces for all events,” Mr Sharman said.
“The two-level Grand Pavilion has 3000sq/m of space across both levels whilst our Exhibition Hall has occupies a 4000sq/m footprint, all this operates independently from the first-class, four level racecourse grandstand.
“Whether it be gala dinners, conferences, trade shows or the finest of dining in one of our spaces or restaurants on a raceday, Rosehill Gardens offers the very best for functions large or small.
“The staff and I, including our fabulous Executive Chef Gerry Maher, are thrilled and honoured to have received these awards.”
