The Australian Turf Club (ATC) today successfully launched the Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival at Royal Randwick 2020 with a Champagne brunch in true racing style.

With prizemoney and trophies worth more than $37 million, including 18 Group 1 races, a host of colourful trackside events will feature across the Longines Golden Slipper Carnival at Rosehill Gardens and The Star Championships and Schweppes All Aged Stakes Day at Royal Randwick from March 14 to April 18.

The event welcomed a plethora of new talent to the 2020 Autumn stable, including Sydney fashion and lifestyle personality, Phoebe Burgess as the Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival Ambassador, Guest Chef Partner Colin Fassnidge and ATC’s social stable Tayla Damir, Matt de Groot and Eloise Jaksic and racing stars Kerrin McEvoy, Corey Brown & Peter Snowden.

The six week Carnival begins this weekend in a sea of pink with Chandon Ladies Day featuring the inaugural Pink Fashion Lunch supporting the McGrath Foundation, before attention turns to the world’s richest race for two-year-olds – the $3.5 million Longines Golden Slipper Day Ambassador.

Returning for another season, the ATC welcomed celebrity stylist Jess Pecoraro and make-up artist to the stars, Michael Brown who both continue to play a role in bringing to life stunning trackside trends and beauty tricks this Autumn.

Former Group 1 Jockey, Katelyn Mallyon, made a special appearance on horseback with Clerk of the Course horse Aussie, as part of a spectacular fashion parade in the Theatre of the Horse. In her role as ATC Racing Ambassador, Katelyn’s extensive experience in horse racing, both in and out of the saddle makes her an industry ‘go-to’ and the perfect choice to highlight the Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival story.

With fashion and racing synonymous with one another, the Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival continue its commitment to offer fashion forward racegoers an elevated, glamour-filled carnival, through a wide range of attractions including Longines Prize for Elegance and the Fashion Chute competitions, taking place across various racedays at Rosehill Gardens and Royal Randwick.

Included in the General Admission ticket entry are exciting new activations which are free for racegoers include Le Petit Pony Club; a French inspired playground, which features a DJ, French inspired menu and garden furniture, the Canadian Club Lawn and TAB Country Club, on the Ledger Lawn.

Autumn Racing Carnival Guest Chef Colin Fassnidge will whet the appetite of racegoers having curated a special menu for the Pink Fashion Lunch and for VIP hospitality precinct, The Conservatory with The Estate at Royal Randwick across The Star Championships.

Further cementing the ATC’s status as a premier destination for world-class entertainment, a stellar line up of live performances will unfold across coming weeks including legendary rocker Jon Stevens who is set to headline Longines Golden Slipper Day, Saturday 21 March at Rosehill Gardens, and Hot Dub Time Machine on The Championships Day 2 – Longines Queen Elizabeth Stakes Day, Saturday 11 April ay Royal Randwick, while a major headline act will soon be announced for The Star Championships Day 1.
