Royal Randwick will host City Tattersalls Club Cup Day as the ultimate gentleman’s race day this Saturday, 15 October.

Racegoers will enjoy a day of Black Type racing featuring the Group 3 $150,000 ICD Property Nivison, the Listed $150,000 City Tattersalls Lightning and Listed $125,000 City Tattersalls Club Cup, plus all the live action from Melbourne will be televised across the course.

The famous Bearded Bakers will bring their pop-up Knafeh Bakery to the track, where they will be baking their renowned Middle Eastern desserts for racegoers throughout the day.

Head bakers, Joey and Ameer El-Issa, will also be walking around the crowd searching for stylish gents to flaunt their look in front of the Knafeh Bakery. The best dressed lads will parade in front of expert judges from GQ with one fashion-mister winning a GQ styling session worth $7,000 and a $1,000 Myer Gift Card.

The superior food offering will span across the course with The Mews by delicious., located on the Octagonal Lawn, providing culinary delights from the finest Australian produce from the earth, paddock, sea and dairy.

On the Leger Lawn, The Bucket List’s Head Chef Tom Walton will bring his favourite beachside menu trackside in the hugely popular Bucket List marquee. Taking the best of its iconic Bondi Beach venue to Royal Randwick, the marquee will provide an atmosphere like no other to the course with Sydney’s best DJs performing throughout the day.

The party vibes will continue throughout the day with cover band Suiteaz performing in the Theatre of the horse after the last race as part of the Sydney Spring Carnival Concert Series.

On the track, Bjorn Baker-trainer Egyptian Symbol has opened as the short priced $2.80 TAB Fixed Odd favourite in the Group 3 $150,000 ICD Property Nivison.

Proven over the distance, the four-year-old mare will make her return to the track this Saturday following a five month spell.

Savoureux ($7.00 TAB Fixed Odds) for Kris Lees will be running over her favoured distance this run having been successful over the 1200m on three occasions. The daughter of Nadeem has run two places from three starts this preparation.

The Listed City Tattersalls Lightning has attracted a capacity field with emerging sprinter Spieth, the $3.80 TAB Fixed odds favourite resuming for trainer Bryce Heys. The winner of his last three starts before a spell, this will be his toughest test to date.

The Listed $125,000 City Tattersalls Club Cup has eight-year-old Junoob for Chris Waller as the $3.30 TAB Fixed Odds favourite in a wide open race.

The chestnut gave a gallant effort last start in the Group 1 McGrath Estate Agents Metropolitan however could not make enough ground on the front runners after shifting out from the rail in the home straight.

Similarly, Kris Lees’ Sense of Occasion ($4.40 TAB Fixed Odds) also featured in the Metropolitan and will be a strong contender this week. The gelding ran well to the line in the Group 1 feature but fell short by 2.5 lengths to take fifth place.

Racegoers will be able to enjoy all of the action on and off the track for an affordable price when pre-purchasing a Sydney Spring Carnival ticket bundle, which offers racegoers five general admission tickets for $50.

Valid pre-purchased event tickets include free return travel to Randwick Racecourse on train services as well as event shuttle buses that will run from Central and Bondi Junction stations.
