Royal Randwick hosts Might and Power Race Day this Saturday 19 August – the biggest community race day on the venue’s calendar.
Partnering with Cerebral Palsy Alliance for the 20th year, the day is named in honour of champion racehorse Might and Power.
Since the charity’s inception more than $5 million has been raised for therapy and respite services as well as other programs for children and families living with cerebral palsy.
Free activities will run throughout Saturday including face painters, airbrush tattooists, a petting zoo, pony rides, bungee trampolines and a jumping castle.
On the track, racing is headlined by the Group 2 $250,000 Bob Ingham Warwick Stakes and the return of the World’s Best Horse on Turf, Winx.
Sydney’s super race mare trained by Chris Waller chases her 18th consecutive win, and is a $1.06 TAB Fixed Odds favourite.
Stablemates Antonio Giuseppe and Foxplay, and Inference for Hawkes Racing, all follow on the second line of betting at $17.00 TAB Fixed Odds.
Punters have supported Godolphin’s James Cummings-trained Alizee as a $2.30 TAB Fixed Odds favourite in the Group 2 $200,000 2GB Silver Shadow.
Formality for David & Ben Hayes and Tom Dabernig, visiting from Melbourne, is at $3.20 TAB Fixed Odds in her first run since Autumn.
Bjorn Baker’s Champagne Cuddles ($4.00 TAB Fixed Odds) is unbeaten and steps up in distance and class.
