Australian Turf Club is home to four racecourses in the Sydney metropolitan and we are proud to be part of a city known for its cultural, social and urban diversity. We are committed to serving our communities through charitable support programs and engagement. Since 2016, the impact of Australian Turf Club’s community and charitable works programs is measured at over $10m. ATC Foundation makes grants nationally to support charitable organisations (with DGR1 status) that work to benefit the community across a wide range of sectors and endeavours. It recently made its fourth round of donations.
Serving our communities
We are committed to making a positive contribution and to expressing the character of racing as giving, compassionate and empathetic to the causes that concern our communities. The creation of ATC Foundation enabled the club to fundraise and thereby increase its community impact.

Community Initiatives
ATC Foundation
ATC Foundation prioritise support to local community partnerships, charity business partners, racing industry and volunteering opportunities.
Schools, Scholarships & Upskilling
The education system contributes to the development and sustainability of healthy communities. Our School Support Programme presently supports 20 schools. Recent initiatives have included installing irrigation systems and landscaping projects at schools, funding scholarships, hosting careers talks at the racecourse and making school visits. Learn about how an ATC Foundation Grant assisted The Shepherd Centre to graduate 42 children, who are deaf or hearing impaired, to school.
Racing Industry Initiatives
The national thoroughbred racing industry is worth $9 billion and provides more than 70,000 full-time jobs. Through the ATC Industry Support Register, we help Country and Provincial Clubs in NSW by rehousing equipment and upskilling staff. We support the National Jockeys Trust and other forces for good including providing financial relief and provisions to industry participants affected by recent droughts, bushfires and floods.
Volunteering
The ATC provides employment opportunities to 2,000 full time and casual staff. Our volunteering programme allows staff to support the community during office hours while engaging them in causes which they are passionate about.
Sustainability
We are commited to maintaining a leadership position in sustainability practices and have a strong track record in achieving sustainability outcomes.
Carnival Pins
All profits from the sale of exclusive pins support ATC Foundation causes and are available to purchase at major Carnival Days. Pins commemorating The Everest previously have raised over $45,000 each year.
Saddle Cloth Auctions
Online auctions of highly prized Saddle Cloth memorabilia take place throughout the year and raise funds for the ATC Foundation.

Children's Activity Book
You don’t have to own your own pony to get to know and love horses. Learn everything you need to know about Thoroughbred horses from our downloadable Children’s Activity Book.
