The Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival concludes this Saturday at Royal Randwick with the running of Schweppes All Aged Stakes Day.
Over six weeks, the Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival has boasted prizemoney of $41 million with action across Royal Randwick and Rosehill Gardens. The $1.5 million Schweppes Aged Stakes is one of two Group 1s on the afternoon with the $1 million Moët & Chandon Champagne Stakes being the other.
Here are five things to expect on Schweppes All Aged Stakes Day:
- THE AGENCY AUSTRALIAN PONY RACING SERIES FINALS
A highlight not to be missed! The Australian Turf Club and TIC (Thoroughbred Industry Careers) will host the first significant national finals for Pony Racing down the Royal Randwick straight. The Small Ponies will shine at 11am while the Large Ponies will do battle at 11:45am. - GROUP 1 ACTION AT YOUR FINGERTIPS
Two Group 1s will set the Royal Randwick track alight on the final day of the Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival.In the Schweppes All Aged Stakes, Rosehill Gardens trainer Chris Waller has the $3.80 TAB Fixed Odds favourite in Espiona (Nash Rawiller). Second elect in the market is Annabel Neasham’s Sunshine In Paris (Ryan Maloney, $6-$4.80) while Ciaron Maher’s Australian Guineas winner Southport Tycoon (Jamie Kah) sits on the third line of betting at $6.A race earlier on the program, the Moët & Chandon Champagne Stakes is sure to be a competitive affair with Royal Randwick trainer John O’Shea looking to see his colt Linebacker (Tommy Berry) remain unbeaten. The Baillieu winner is $2.70 second favourite with TAB behind ATC Inglis Sires’ winner, Manaal (Jamie Kah, $2.30). Fernhill Mile winner Broadsiding (James McDonald), for James Cummings and Team Godolphin, are next best in the betting at $6.50.Prior to the two features, patrons will get the chance for a meet and greet with now-retired champion galloper, Zaaki. Head down to the horse stalls at 2:30pm to get up close and personal with the multiple Group 1 winner. - GLAM IT UP AT THE PAMPER PAVILION

Round out the Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival and dance the day away with a performance from the world’s first time-travelling DJ, Hot Dub Time Machine. Throughout the carnival, Hot Dub has rocked the ‘After The Last’ concert series and Schweppes All Aged Stakes Day will be no different. Performance begins after the final race in the Theatre of the Horse.
