Five Things to Expect on The Big Dance on Cup Day
The Sydney Everest Carnival returns to Royal Randwick for the final time of the Carnival with The Big Dance on Cup Day on Tuesday 5 November. It’s the only place to watch LIVE racing in Sydney.
Here are five things to expect on The Big Dance on Cup Day.
1. The Big Dance
The highlight of the racing program at Royal Randwick is the $3 million Big Dance for NSW Country Cup winners and runners-up. It features a quality field on the famous mile distance.
The race jumps at 2.20pm and there is also the Little Dance and Barn Dance on the program, while the sprinters will contest the Precise Air Choisir Hcp at 4.50pm.
You will be able to watch the Melbourne Cup around the course at 3pm.
2. Excitement in the Peacock Lounge
It’s your last chance to experience the excitement of this new destination in the Winx Stand, Royal Randwick this Sydney Everest Carnival. The Peacock Lounge will be the place to be and is open to all racegoers. Guests will enjoy premium food including Yum Cha and an impressive James Squire bar will be serving beers and bubbles all day. There will be a rotation of epic DJs bringing the venue to life all alongside great racing action trackside.
3. Delicious eats and drinks
Enjoy a great selection of food including delicious Yum Cha in the Peacock Lounge, serving up cult-favourites like steamed pork buns, satay chicken skewers and lobster spring rolls, as well as the must try item on the menu, the Prawn and Water Chestnut dumplings devised by celebrity chef Hayden Quinn. There will be a variety of food outlets on the day to ensure everyone’s taste’s are catered for. Look out for the Smokehouse serving up some of the favourites.
4. Expect Great Fashion
While celebrating and acknowledging traditional fashion initiatives, the Australian Turf Club aims to embrace both the evolving digital landscape, and the evolution of racewear styling through Fashion Stakes.
Racegoers are encouraged to find a Fashion Stakes mirror or hashtag and post it to their socials with #FashionStakes for a chance to win a range of prizes on the day and feature on the big screen trackside.
5. Dance the day away to Bjorn Again
The Big Dance on Cup Day features Bjorn Again, the world’s number one ABBA Tribute Show. Get ready to dance and sing along to classics like “Dancing Queen,” “Ring Ring,” “Gimme Gimme Gimme,” and more after the last race at the Theatre of the Horse. Don’t miss this ABBA-SOLUTE celebration!

There is plenty more excitement and colour across the racecourse to enjoy your day. Grab your friends and roll up at the TAB Green for some lawn bowls. Plus, don’t miss Celebration Hour with $49 specials on Whispering Angel Rosé (750ml) from 1pm – 2pm.
