Five Questions With Jules Robinson

September 14, 2021

Meet Everest Carnival Fashion Stakes Ambassador Jules Robinson. Mum, wife, entrepreneur and ambassador Jules Robinson’s passion and drive knows no limits! The 39-year-old TV personality from Sydney is best known for being relatable and honest on Married at First Sight, for empowering women around the world with her shapewear line FIGUR and recent podcast The Juggling Act. This week, we caught up with Jules to ask her a few questions ahead of the opening day of Everest Carnival – Fujitsu General George Main Stakes Day this Saturday.

1. Tell us about your role as Fashion Stakes Ambassador?

I’ve been invited by the Australian Turf Club to be the Fashion Stakes Ambassador during the Everest Carnival this spring which is really exciting. I love the races and adore fashion, so it’s a perfect match.

I’ll also be judging Fashion Stakes which is a national online fashion competition across September 18, October 16 and 30 for women, men and household groups to have some fun, get dressed up for the races and submit their photo or video for the chance to win over $20,000 in cash and prizing by Dyson, Chandon, Runway Room, Jo Malone London, White Claw and my own FIGUR shapewear line.

2. What will you be looking for as Fashion Stakes Judge?

I love seeing women with confidence and know how to dress their body shape and accentuate their natural shape.  I’ll be looking for originality and a quirky feature of some description, whether that’s in the form of a hat, accessory, or outfit. And likewise with men, it’s all in the detail and confidence to have a go.

3. How do you get ready for a big Sydney raceday, whether you’re on track or celebrating from home?

I love the process of pulling an outfit together and I generally start with finding a statement piece whether that’s a flamboyant hat or unique dress, and will work from there to achieve a balanced look.

Once raceday arrives, I like to start my morning with some exercise, a light breakfast, cup of coffee, music on and then get to work with my hair and makeup. Once the outfit is on, I’m feeling fabulous and ready to roll.

3. Top raceday fashion and beauty tips?

Balance your make up. If you’re going for a bold red lip, which I love, make sure your eye make up is relatively simple and consider adding a long lash of if you’re going for a smokey eye, go for a lighter lip and a pop of gloss.

Dress to your personality and have fun with it.

4. Do you have a favourite horse?

Yes, I love Nature Strip (and he’s a red head too), so he’s my early tip for The TAB Everest!

The TAB Everest is the world’s richest race on turf, with $15 million prizemoney up for grabs, held on Everest Day. Find out more about how the race works here.

5. Tips to keeping a healthy mindset and spirit during lockdown?

For me I like to adopt good simple habits like daily exercise, sitting in the sun to have lunch, and I’m partial to a good tv binge too!
