Five Questions With Jamie Richards
October 21, 2021
This week, we spoke to Group 1 New Zealand-based trainer Jamie Richards from Te Akau Racing to check in on how his runner Entriviere is preparing ahead of the inaugural running of the $2million The Invitation this Saturday, and to find out a bit more about his background.
These are the questions we asked him, listen to his responses below.
1. What does a day in a life of a horse trainer look like?
2. What is your earliest or favourite memory of horse racing?
3. You decided to set Entriviere for the $2 million Invitation as soon as the new race was announced. Just how special do you think she could be?
4. Your father Paul has been based at Royal Randwick with Entriviere. How does that work and how often are you in contact with each other?
5. You have won 48 Group 1 wins and 13 this year and you are still only 31 years old which is a great feat. Is there a win in Sydney that is extra special?
*Bonus question: if you were racehorse what would you be called?
