Introducing the Australian Turf Club Golden Slipper Fireburn Gin. This limited edition handcrafted Gin celebrates and embodies the spirit of Fireburn, winner of the 2022 Longines Golden Slipper at Rosehill Gardens.

The unique flavours of fireburn gin are developed from raw natural honey, lemon and scorched orange infused with native rosemary and thyme, which are sourced from our partnered local producers in the southern highlands or grown onsite at our ATC venues to give our gin a very personal and unique touch.

Fireburn was ridden by champion jockey Brenton Avdulla, trained by Gary Portelli and bred by Laurel Oak Bloodstock.

Proceeds of the Australian Turf Club Golden Slipper Fireburn Gin will go to the ATC Foundation to support flood relief initiatives.

Celebrating the Spirit of Fireburn

Champion of 2022 Longines Golden Slipper

Fireburn was always destined for success. The daughter of Rebel Dane out of Mull It Over was bred by Silverdale Farm. Showing early promise, she was a winner at just her second start before winning again on New Year’s Day. She returned for a Sydney Autumn Racing campaign and won the Group 2 Sweet Embrace first-up, making her one of the main contenders in the $5 million Longines Golden Slipper.

On 19 March 2022 on a heavy track at Rosehill Gardens, Fireburn came from back in the field to claim the richest race for two-year-olds. This gave trainer Gary Porteli and jockey Brenton Avdulla their second Longines Golden Slipper. A huge win for breeder Silverdale Farm and also Laurel Oak Bloodstock.

Gerry Maher, Group Executive Chef at the Australian Turf Club has collaborated with small batch brewer Lord howe island distillery to bring to life a gin that is exceptional and personal for our Club members, working closely together to bring together local produce that compliments and elevates the gin to a Group 1 Class. The botanicals have been carefully selected from produce procured from our local NSW producers or grown onsite at ATC to completement and personalise this exceptional gin to the ATC Brand.

“Being a gin drinker made this all the more exciting for me, being able to create this gin using ingredients and botanicals that are personal to the club and myself because they are grown on our site or delivered from our small local farmers and producers who align to our values and qualities was exceptional, and the flavour palate of raw natural honey, lemon and scorched orange infused with native rosemary and thyme in my opinion is exceptional. I truly love it over ice with Tonic and fresh lime, but I encourage you to try it with your favourite mixers!” says Gerry.

Supporting Flood Relief Initiatives

Proceeds of the Australian Turf Club Golden Slipper Fireburn Gin will go to the ATC Foundation to support flood relief initiatives.

The recent floods have had a severe impact on race clubs, industry and the community. ATC and ATC Foundation, in conjunction with NSWTA & Racing NSW has donated $5,000 for the delivery of hay to Cowra to assist local trainers.

Fireburn Gin Cocktail Recipes

Here’s a couple of cocktails for a refreshing drink over coming Summer months:

Rosie’s Delight

large wine glass
30ml Fireburn Gin
15ml lemon juice
10ml rose syrup
120ml tonic water
lemon wheel (dehydrated preferred)
rose petal (red preferred)

1.Pour Fireburn gin, lemon juice and rose syrup into a glass.

2.Fill glass 2/3 with ice.

3.Top with tonic water and stir.

4.Garnish with lemon wheel and rose petal.

Fire Fiesta

Large wine glass or hi-ball glass

45ml Fireburn Gin
15ml Chambord or raspberry juice
15ml lime juice
100ml ginger beer
lime wedge
raspberry

1.Pour Fireburn Gin, Chambord or raspberry syrup & lime juice into glass

2.Fill glass 2/3 with ice.

3.Top with ginger beer and stir.

4.Garnish with lime wedge and raspberry.
