DONNY GALLELA'S FASHION TIPS

The spectacular eight-week Sydney Everest Carnival is the perfect opportunity to glam up, feel fabulous and enjoy a day out with those closest to you.

This Sydney Everest Carnival is set to be bigger than ever and our resident stylist Donny Galella provides the latest fashion trends and tips for the big days to ensure you are prepared this Spring.

Donny breaks down the top trends this spring:

  • The relaxed “Boyfriend” style suit – the 2 piece pant suit is back for Spring 22, this season it’s a little oversized, relaxed and even pant legs are also more relaxed or wide leg even.
  • Puffy sleeves + big shoulders are still trending this season. Pump up the volume for maximum exposure.
  • Dopamine dressing – lots of bright bold fun colour especially the neon tones.  if you don’t feel comfortable rocking a bold colour outfit, consider bold bright coloured hats, clutches and heels.
  • Barbiecore – is a global trend thanks to the upcoming Barbie movie and Valentino did a whole collection in pink. Pink will definitely be a huge colour trackside this spring.
  • Metallics – high shine fabrics, sparkly fabrics, sequins – this trend will definitely turn heads track side. Metallic pleats are a chic way to adopt this trend for the track.

Donny has you prepared for the big racedays with some fashion inspiration.

It’s all about pastel tones, light colours, feminine shapes, floaty fabrics, florals and delicate materials like lace. Her beret was custom made in the same colour and features an oversized netting bow with gold details, matched back to gold shoes, gold clutch. The other model wears a pastel peach dress with a puffy sleeve, the dress fabric features gorgeous metallic details another trend, along with silver heels and silver clutch. The custom made hat is silver and matches the silver details in the dress.

Golden Eagle Day

29 October

Ajok wears a sublime gold pleated dress from Acler, it looks like liquid gold. I love the kimono style sleeves. Viktoria Novak custom made a black and gold double layered headband that perfectly matches the clutch and heels. For the guys, you can incorporate some gold with a pair of sunglasses, a lapel pin, a pocket square, a bracelet or a tie in a golden or yellow tone. Ethan wears a blazer, shirt and pants from Calibre and dashes of gold, such as his gold Calibre lapel pin, Paul Smith. Gold sunglasses and his black and gold bracelet from Fairfax and Roberts.

The Big Dance on Cup Day

The perfect day to embrace some colour, the model is wearing a dress by Mackenzie model, it has on trend volume sleeves, ruffle details and a fun full skirt that is perfect to dance and move in. Inspired by the #barbiecore trend, the model wears pink Louboutin heels, a custom made pink lace boater hat by Staceie Hemera Roberts and pink clutch. The male model wears a pastel mint suit, this is such a fun colour for spring. We are seeing a huge trend with men experimenting with fun new colours for racing.
