HUGE CROWD CELEBRATES BOXING DAY AT ROYAL RANDWICK
December 30, 2022
The Australian Turf Club’s Summer Festival of Racing continued at Royal Randwick on Boxing Day as a huge crowd flocked to the course.
Nearly 15,000 racegoers enjoyed free entry and were treated to a day of top-class live racing action and entertainment under sunny conditions.
Royal Randwick was a buzz with a great atmosphere on course as racegoers returned for Sydney’s biggest Boxing Day crowd since Covid restrictions were lifted.
Leading apprentice Tyler Schiller had a great day out riding four winners including Irish Kisses for trainer Tracey Bartley at $21. The win was celebrated loudly across the course with many Irish visitors in attendance taking the big odds.
In addition to the great racing action, all general admission racegoers enjoyed the world-class WINX Stand which was open to all racegoers. It hosted the Beach Club @ Winx featuring an array of DJ performances and activations as part of the ATC’s Summer Festival celebrations.
Royal Randwick plays host to the final race meeting of 2022 with a 10-race card on New Year’s Eve.
The new year kicks off at Canterbury Park on Sunday 1 January with the free Kia Night Racing Twilight meeting starting at 3.20pm.
