One of the Australian Turf Club’s time-honoured and most loyal partners combines with one of Sydney’s newest races this Saturday as the Everest Carnival continues at Royal Randwick.
City Tattersalls Club Cup Day and the running of the Listed $140,000 ClubsNSW City Tattersalls Club Cup continues a long tradition of the Sydney Spring at Royal Randwick.
That race will be followed on Saturday by the second running of the $1 million Bar 83 Bondi Stakes for the three year olds – part of Sydney’s expanded Spring racing program and a fifth of seven consecutive weeks of $1 million-plus races in Sydney.
Saturday’s nine-race card also includes the Group 3 $200,000 Daily Press Nivison and the Listed $200,000 AMD Brian Crowley Stakes.

The Gerald Ryan and Sterling Alexiou trained Peltzer who has won all three of his starts at Royal Randwick is the $2.90 TAB favourite in the Bar 83 Bondi Stakes for jockey Tim Clark.
Prime Star ($4.20 TAB) for trainer brothers Michael and Richard Freedman and jockey Tommy Berry is next in the market as he aims to reverse a last start second to Peltzer in the Stan Fox Stakes.
The John O’Shea trained and Nash Rawiller ridden Acrophobic and the James Cummings and Jason Collett pairing with Thermosphere are both at $6 with TAB.
The Cummings Godolphin team has the early favourite in the Group 3 $200,000 Daily Press Nivison with Athiri at $4.60 as she looks to win a third consecutive race for jockey Rachel King.
In a wide-open betting race Tommy Berry rides Wandabaa ($5.50 TAB) for trainer Kris Lees ahead of Sweet Deal ($7 TAB) for trainer John Thompson and jockey Nash Rawiller.
Six of the next runners in betting are priced by TAB at $8 to $12.
The ClubsNSW City Tattersalls Club over the 2400m is another open betting event headed by $4.20 TAB favourite Djukon for Sydney’s champion trainer Chris Waller and jockey Tommy Berry.
Grey Lion ($5 TAB) for trainer Matthew Smith and jockey Kathy O’Hara and Girl Tuesday ($5.50 TAB) trained by Clarry Connors and ridden by Nash Rawiller are next in the market.
The Listed $200,000 AMD Brian Crowley Stakes adds another competitive betting market with the early $3.10 TAB favourite The Bopper (trainer Kris Lees and jockey Josh Parr) just ahead of Destination $3.20 TAB for James Cummings and Rachel King.
The Royal Randwick track was rated a good 4 on Thursday afternoon with fine and warm weather forecast right through until Saturday night.
