STARTING GATES OPEN IN THE SEARCH FOR AUSTRALIA’S BIGGEST WINX FANS
As Australia’s darling of the turf prepares to chase a 31st consecutive victory and a world record 23 Group 1 wins in Saturday’s $600,000 Group 1 TAB Chipping Norton Stakes at Royal Randwick, the Australian Turf Club (ATC) invites all Winx fans, Australia-wide, to show us why they are the champion mare’s biggest fan.
From 10.00am, Friday 1 March, Winx fans can upload their videos or photos and in 25 words or less explain why they should be one of three winners to enjoy a Winx experience of a lifetime.
Open to all ages, three lucky winners, to be selected on Monday 1 April, will enjoy a trip to Sydney with one guest including domestic airfares, car transfers and two night’s accommodation at The Star along with a VIP Winx experience on Longines Queen Elizabeth Stakes Day, including access to the Theatre of the Horse for the feature race, and the dismount area to see Winx return to scale.
Australian Turf Club Executive General Manager of Racing Services and Membership James Heddo said: “This is a fantastic promotion aimed at Winx fans which provides another opportunity for people to show their love for this world champion mare and be selected to win a once in a lifetime experience.”
On this Saturday’s TAB Chipping Norton Stakes Day, Mr Heddo added:
“Hospitality at Royal Randwick is almost sold out and with a perfect summers day forecast on Saturday, we expect racegoers to be out in force to watch yet another world record broken as Winx chases her 23rd Group 1 victory.”
Winx may have up to three remaining runs this campaign including:
– $600,000 Group 1 TAB Chipping Norton Stakes (1600m) at Royal Randwick on Saturday 2 March;
– $1 million Group 1 The Agency George Ryder Stakes (1500m) at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday 23 March;
– $4 million Group 1 Longines Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2000m) at Royal Randwick on Saturday 13 April.
